Stan Pierce Watercolor Paintings. I’m a watercolorist who paints the land and marine scapes of the Midwest. At 81 years old, I paint in a loosely precise, transparent style that allows me to be a little more casual and stronger in brush use, allowing differences in warmth and value contrasts to carry the load in defining shapes. Makes composing a lot more fun and produces some nice bits of “eye candy.”. I sell only “studio direct” and have succeeded in keeping prices and costs down.

Stan Pierce Watercolor Paintings. You will notice that Central Ohio Watercolor Society (COWS) ranks high on my list. In awe of achieving signature membership and eventually serving a term as President, I think the two annual shows are the most important in the Midwest. 2004, second place, COWS Spring Show. Did a one-man lawn show, “Picnic With the Artist” in 2005; and in 2006, First Place at the SUMC Art Fair. 2007, I placed Best of Show in the COWS Spring Show and third in the COWS Fall Show.
