Stand Tall And Grow: December 2010
http://standtallandgrow.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 5, 2010. Here is to another end of the semester. It has been chaotic in the digital lab lately. Everyone is fighting to get their stuff done for the semester! Luckily for me, I stayed up last night until 4 am getting my work done for Studio (my only shooting class). Anyway, my final project included a mixture of portraits done in the studio and landscape-y images shot in my home town of El Paso. I wanted to incorporate the best of two world, studio and on location shooting.

Stand Tall And Grow: June 2010
http://standtallandgrow.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 16, 2010. I finished my "wallsterpiece"! It is a replica of this image of Yves St Lauren sketching. I kind of wanted it to be like he was designing on my wall. It was a lot of fun to get it done. I did it with pencil first then went over it twice with black paint. I feel that every time I look at it I will get inspired to do something artistic every day. :D. Also, in the corner I added Yves name just the way he would write it. Here are some close ups:. Stand Tall And Grow: Wallsterpiece pt 2 & Back to School
http://standtallandgrow.blogspot.com/2011/01/wallsterpiece-pt-2-back-to-school.html
Sunday, January 16, 2011. Wallsterpiece pt 2 and Back to School. As a Christmas present to my sister, she has asked me to paint her an illustration by Garance Doré. On her wall. If anyone remembers, I had created an Yves St Laurent picture into a painting on my own wall in the summer. ( Click here to look. This "wallsterpiece" took longer than expected because after a wonderful trip to NYC, I happened to get sick. However, it is completed a day before I head back to Austin for school!

Stand Tall And Grow: November 2009
http://standtallandgrow.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 12, 2009. I constantly go through many "brain farts" when it comes to gathering ideas for photography. As of right now I am currently stuck and stressed. The pressure that finals have created for me is unbelievable. I technically have two weeks to work on my final portfolios and the thought of it makes my stomach hurt. Here are some pieces of work that inspire to continue without a single idea written on my little journal of thoughts:. Work by Hedi Slimane. Work by Richard Avedon.

Stand Tall And Grow: September 2010

Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Exercise #1 and #2 - White on White / Black on Black. Eduardo is always trying to get us to be creative in this class. This very technical assignment was difficult to try and shoot. However, one night I was re-watching one of my favorite movies (A Single Man) and BAM! I got inspiration in an instant. We had to spray paint items in a matt white or black and shoot them with the same colored background while moving the light source in different locations. These were my results:.

Stand Tall And Grow: March 2011
http://standtallandgrow.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Large Camera - Assignment #1 - Urban Anthropology. Taking Large Camera this semester has modified my perspective on photography as a whole. I had met someone once who told me, "I don't like to shoot film. Professionals do not use film." However, that is the opposite of what I have found. A lot of professionals use film and a lot of them use 4x5 or 8x10 sheet film. However, after being assigned our first project, I immediately fell in love with 4x5 film and large format shooting.
