http://ladouceviesuisse.blogspot.com/2011/05/frock-it-part-2.html
Living the good life in Switzerland. Wednesday, 11 May 2011. Frock It, Part 2. Oh, I am so LATE. I should have done this post on Monday, but my Mum was still here and we were too busy drinking wine to think of doing stuff like housework and blogging. She left this morning and I am catching up on housework and blog - honest, Mum. I really did do the hoovering today, ask the kids. They even had to tidy up their junk and finish their homework. Ok, I digress. The idea behind Frock It! Frock this week is:.

La douce vie: August 2010

Living the good life in Switzerland. Tuesday, 17 August 2010. DFDS Seaways Ferry receives a Daphne Seal of Approval. Poor Daphne had to stay in the Doggy Hotel of the Ferry to Newcastle. Along with 2 other dogs she was left in a room with various sized dog cages, plenty of fresh water and some food. She refused the food – protest perhaps? On arrival in Newcastle, Daphne’s doggy passport was checked and we were allowed to proceed with no difficulty. Links zu diesem Post. Tuesday, 10 August 2010. He was bo...

La douce vie: Oven Pride - A Review
http://ladouceviesuisse.blogspot.com/2011/05/oven-pride-review.html
Living the good life in Switzerland. Tuesday, 3 May 2011. Oven Pride - A Review. This will make my mother fall over in shock. Me reviewing a cleaning product. How ironic. So when I read on Mumsnet recently about a product that made cleaning the oven a piece of cake, I knew I had to try it. My husband was recently in Scotland and brought me back a packet of Oven Pride. According to the manufacturers, "Transforms racks and grills" and can also be used on BBQs. And this is how easy it was:. The Oven Pride d...

La douce vie: April 2011
http://ladouceviesuisse.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Living the good life in Switzerland. Tuesday, 12 April 2011. I was reading MuddlingAlongMummy's. Blog earlier, about the banning of the burka in France. Like MuddlingAlongMummy, I have been very conflicted about this. There are arguments that women are being forced to cover their faces and hair by men, and that banning the burka means that this can no longer happen. Catholic nuns cover their bodies and hair, do we deny them the right to do so? Should we not be prosecuting and jailing men who abuse women?

La douce vie: Using Social Media to boost business
http://ladouceviesuisse.blogspot.com/2011/05/using-social-media-to-boost-business.html
Living the good life in Switzerland. Wednesday, 11 May 2011. Using Social Media to boost business. This is a topic that I have been considering for some time. As an avid Twitter user, I have observed companies using Twitter to boost their business. Some do this well, some not so well. This will do as an excuse to post this pic. Interestingly, it is not always the big names who do this well. The companies, or brands, who do this successfully follow a few basic rules, I have observed:. 2 Do it with humour.

La douce vie: November 2010
http://ladouceviesuisse.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Living the good life in Switzerland. Sunday, 28 November 2010. The Swiss have a unique voting system called direct (or half direct) democracy. This means that basically any Swiss citizen can propose a change to a law. Around four times a year votes are cast on local and national level - this can be anything from a major change in the constitution to a local "minor" issue. Slightly less amusing were the other posters seen in our village. The proposal was highly critisised by human rights groups. Amnes...

Living the good life in Switzerland. Thursday, 28 October 2010. Exiting the Mummy Cocoon. We had a Halloween Party yesterday and when speaking to the other mothers we discovered something that we all had in common. This leaves little time for ourselves, especially if the children are close in age. We can go to the supermarket alone, without "Can I have that" echoing every 30 seconds. It is a treat to go the supermarket alone, a chore that 5 years previously was an every day boring task is now elevate...
