Steer Diary,

Monday, May 28, 2012. I Peru, do you? This dish is fabulous. We make it for guests, usually, but a week or so ago we made for just us. And it rocks. Amazing flavor, excellent as leftovers the next day. I will put the recipe here with these caveats:. I add peppers. Not green. Yellow and red only. I do saute the pepper and onions on high heat in a cast iron skillet, then add to the grilled beef at the end. Don't go light on the cilantro; it adds a lovely brightness. Squeezed lime is also nice for a finish.

Steer Diary,: Flank Steak

http://steerdiary.blogspot.com/2011/07/flank-steak.html

Monday, July 4, 2011. This post shoulda/coulda been called Chimichurri Sauce. But we'll get to that. Ok, so this dish was actually consumed by me on Friday at a work BBQ. This recipe below is reprinted without permission from Larissa Ivancamp. The next picture you will view is not of beef. I put the 2lb flank in a ziplock bag overnight with about 1/3 of the mixture and saved the rest for slopping on the steak when it came off the grill. Makes about 2 cups. 1/2 cup red wine vinegar. Good Meat Makes a Diff...

Steer Diary,: August 2011

http://steerdiary.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 21, 2011. Barney Rubble had it right! OK, so this is maybe the biggest steak I've eaten. I mean, it is large. Bud's Meats calls it a Rib Steak. Around here we just dust with S&P, call it done. Yukon mash. Salad. And finish if off with a lovely red from the Hill Family Vineyards. Delish. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Steer Diary,: June 2011

http://steerdiary.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Monday, June 27, 2011. I can easily say I may have eaten the best burger of my life last night. Seriously. And lucky for me, we have 68 lbs of ground beef in our possession. These are the only part of our year in steer that is not wrapped in double paper hand crafted goodness. But no matter. I simply dusted lightly with salt and fresh ground pepper to begin our journey to scrumptious-ness. Just salt and pepper. Sunday, June 26, 2011. I have been to Oklahoma Joe's. After having t...

Steer Diary,: October 2011

http://steerdiary.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Saturday, October 8, 2011. Lapse in posting, not enjoyment. Life with a one year old is busy. We eat, but blogging is hard to come by. For our wedding anniversary, I grilled filet mignon. It was sublime. Thick, think steaks. High, high heat. 8 minutes each side. Medium rare inside. Salt-roasted banana fingerlings on the plated side. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Janis and Jennie's family adventures. Monday, January 18, 2016. January 9th we went to visit Nana and to see and play with her Christmas decorations. She had made blueberry muffins and served hot cocoa! And then macaroni and cheese for lunch. George and Angelou explored and played and looked at many toys and treasures, and treasured toys, including the music box santas that you shake the snow into the top and it drifts down as the display turns, just and Jordan and I enjoyed it when we were little! Abbingsole: Tall tree

http://abbingsole.blogspot.com/2016/12/tall-tree.html

Janis and Jennie's family adventures. Thursday, December 15, 2016. On Sunday morning we set out to cut down a tree at the same farm where we went last year, and walked out to the rows of balsams with a sled and a saw, but the tallest trees were maybe 6 tall and we have a taller ceiling in our new house! So we ended up buying a precut tree thats probably 8 tall and just right for the spot in front of the window. This last photo is from Monday, which was a snow day, and we put more lights up. Although it i...

Abbingsole: April 2016

http://abbingsole.blogspot.com/2016_04_01_archive.html

Janis and Jennie's family adventures. Wednesday, April 27, 2016. After school sometimes, George and Angelou like to play by the six pine trees (not sure who counted), and George climbs up really, really high. Angelou goes higher each day than the previous, but to my relief, doesnt yet venture past where I can reach. Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Then she blew out the candles and served the pie. As you might imagine, it was the sweetest pie I have ever tasted! Tuesday, April 19, 2016. Bean sprouts play date.
