Laquo; Endless Circle Quilt. May 5, 2012 by thelifeandtravelsofathirtysomething. One of the reasons I haven’t posted in so long was that I was flitting from one project to the next without finishing anything! But that’s the least of my worries. First I got into knitting, made it 2/3 of the way through a sweater and then ripped it all out- have I restarted? But they have put way to many patterns on only a couple sheets of paper. Since all the pattern lines are in black and they are all overlapping I c...

Laquo; First and Last Finishes. February 28, 2012 by thelifeandtravelsofathirtysomething. I have been busy trying to work through the quilting on this monster! I’m hoping to be done with this in a couple weeks. I’ve been trying to work on it everyday but I’ve been distracted by knitting. I love how the pillow came out, unfortunately my cats really “love” the pillow as well so it only sat on the couch for about 30 minutes before I had to pack it away…. Posted in in progress. Lucky Knitter: Sugar Cookies
http://luckyknitter.blogspot.com/2011/12/sugar-cookies.html
Monday, December 19, 2011. While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.". This sugar cookie recipe was given to me by a woman in a church organization I used to attend many years ago. Her name was Doris Melvin and she was a wonderful baker and shared many of her recipes with me. This sugar cookie recipe is simple and makes about 5 dozen, so it is perfect for a cookie swap or bake sale. 1/2 Cup Butter, softened. 2 1/4 Cups Flour. 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder. 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda. Labels: in the kitchen.

Lucky Knitter: It's a Wrap
http://luckyknitter.blogspot.com/2010/12/its-wrap.html
Saturday, December 18, 2010. Okay, so the stockings are hung. The gifts are mostly bought and it's time to wrap everything. Every year I try to come up with a few wrapping ideas to make this tedious chore more fun. I have a few gift cards to give and it's always hard to figure out a creative way to wrap them, so I came up with this knitted gift card holder. It's so quick to make. You can whip out a few while watching your favorite holiday show. They can also hang on the tree. Linking to Censational Girl.

Lucky Knitter: Decorating with Candy Canes

Monday, December 5, 2011. Decorating with Candy Canes. Not having my Christmas Decorations this year is really making me think outside the box. I'm really trying to think of ways to make it look like Christmas around here, but also trying to incorporate what I already have on hand. This Christmas tablescape was made by using candy canes and bakers twine. For candles I used egg cups filled with crushed candy canes. I then nestled a tea light into the crushed candies. Labels: in the kitchen. Very creative&...

Elvy Knits: Basic wallet
http://elvyknits.blogspot.com/2010/11/basic-wallet.html
Or at least talks about knitting and sewing). Sunday, November 28, 2010. This wallet was also a lot of fun to make. Once again, it is a Keyka Lou pattern. I used Amy Butler's daisy chain fabric, left over from a previous project. The wallet is approximately 5.5 inches wide by 4 inches tall and is actually much roomier than I thought it would be. As you can see, there is a little card pocket in the front:. I centered the motif in the back and front panel. I love how it turned out. How cute is this?

Elvy Knits: April 2010
http://elvyknits.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Or at least talks about knitting and sewing). Tuesday, April 6, 2010. So far, so good - my first foray into free motion quilting. I am so pleased with myself right now! Here is my test piece for free motion quilting:. The first image is of the front side, the second image is of the back side of the piece. Theoretically, there aren't supposed to be any sharp points or crossed lines, but hey, this was my first attempt. Which leads me to this: the quilt for Baby Bea is sandwiched and ready to be quilted.

Laquo; Writer’s block. Birthday cupcakes and other goodies. October 29, 2007 by My Fair Daisy. So much for the Franklin County Fiber Twist. This weekend. I had plans to go Saturday, but it poured rain all day. But no worries, we made the best of the day by taking a trip to WEBS. As I roamed the aisles and aisles of fabulous yarn, my husband made himself comfortable and read his magazine. You know, it’s funny…I had been to WEBS. I’ve finally figured out how to create a mosaic in Flickr. 10 Partially knitt...
