The Retired Road: December 2008
http://retiredroad.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
The ramblings and photographs of retired travelers! Saturday, December 20, 2008. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Minnesota enjoyed a White Christmas this year. We've had a couple of fairly big snowfalls. Now that we are retired and don't have to drive in it every day at 6 AM, it really is beautiful! Since Christmas day, we've had some very warm temperatures and have lost about 5 or 6 inches of snow already. Not to worry - it's Minnesota and we know we'll get plenty more. The Retired Road: A Week in the Desert
http://retiredroad.blogspot.com/2014/02/a-week-in-desert.html
The ramblings and photographs of retired travelers! Tuesday, February 4, 2014. A Week in the Desert. We've been here in Buckeye for just over a week now, it's feeling pretty dang comfy! We are renting a house in Del Webb's Festival. It's an "Active Senior" community (hehe) with tons of amenities. Going to the pool or hot tub feels like a resort in Mexico! I'll share a few pictures, but it has been a pretty quiet week. We'll get out and do more hiking and exploring in the next few weeks.

The ramblings and photographs of retired travelers! Saturday, February 21, 2009. Under the Tucson Sun-. I'm enjoying my last afternoon on the patio of our townhouse. We just returned from a 4 1/2 mile hike in Sabino. Canyon, followed by Cherry Limeade and chili-cheese fries at the local Sonic Drive-In. Tomorrow morning we leave and drive toward Flagstaff with a few stops along the way. Then we head to Las. When I finished my last entry, we were literally parking the car in Tombstone, at the Boothill.

The ramblings and photographs of retired travelers! Saturday, January 25, 2014. Big Bend National Park. Big Bend National Park. Big Bend Nat'l Park. On the return it. After a couple of delicious sandwiches at the Starlight Cafe, we drove the Ross Scenic through the park to the Santa Elena Canyon. At this point the Rio Grande River has eroded a 300 foot deep canyon - it is beautiful! Unfortunately we didn't arrive early enough to hike into the canyon, next time we will put this at the top of the list.

The ramblings and photographs of retired travelers! Thursday, February 20, 2014. This year's Arizona Adventure is coming to a close, tomorrow will leave the shadow of the White Tank Mountains and begin the trek back to Minnesota. Although the cold, ice, wind and winter weather are waiting - so is our family, it will be good to get home. I've also been watching all the pictures of snowy owls, the Lake Superior ice caves and now the aurora! We visited friends in Casa Grande - I have no pictures! We spent a...

The ramblings and photographs of retired travelers! Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Home again home again, Jiggity Jig! Tuesday, August 17, 5 PM. What fantastic 5 weeks. The past 3 days have been long drives, with a very different kind of scenery; wheat fields, oil rigs, swollen rivers and streams and flat farm land. Some of our observations -. The mosquitos in Alaska were nothing. Compared to those in the Wal-Mart lot in North Battleford, Saskatchewan! We never even used any mosquito repellant in Alaska.

The ramblings and photographs of retired travelers! Sunday, July 31, 2011. Saturday, July 30. Wasilla is pretty much a suburb of Anchorage although it takes 45 minutes to get back to Anchorage. All the big stores have a spot in Wasilla - Target, Lowe's, Walmart, pizza hut, etc. We met some Minnesota folks on our cruise in Seward, they suggested we drive to Hatcher Pass while we were in this area, so off we went!
