Steven and Haley

One of the most difficult parts of ministry is that you don't always get to see the fruit of your work. Especially when you work with children. And especially in Romania. The kids' lives can be so tumultuous and unpredictable- you can pour into a child for years, and then one day they are gone, without warning, and you may never see them again or know how their life turned out. I like to see the fruit because it's immediate and gratifying. It gives purpose and fuels the fire and passion. The other day he...

Steven and Haley: {what our hearts feel}

http://stevenandhaleyperez.blogspot.com/2012/01/what-our-hearts-feel.html

What our hearts feel}. It's been an amazing holiday season celebrating the birth of our Lord, the new year, Steven's birthday, and hanging out with the holiday teams. There have been some wonderful moments with the kids that really have melted our hearts. Sometimes it is hard to even put into words what our hearts feel here when we spend time with the kids. I think pictures help. Boy time.} Just telling jokes and being boys. And laughing and being silly. And maybe a little gross :). Lorem ipsum dolor sit...

Steven and Haley: {thankful}

http://stevenandhaleyperez.blogspot.com/2012/11/thankful.html

In this season of thankfulness, we have been very thankful for our apartment! We live in a 2 bedroom apartment in a village outside of Bucharest. It had been nice to make a place feel like home when everything around us is different than we are used to. We have also been able to use the apartment to have kids over for parties or time to hang out and chat over dinner. Our kitchen with a tiny cute stove! Where we spend lots of time. View from the living room. Our room with the mason jar chandelier we made.

Steven and Haley: {at first sight}

http://stevenandhaleyperez.blogspot.com/2015/07/at-first-sight.html

New parents always talk about how indescribable it it the first time they see their new child. It's beautiful, moving, and so full of love. You can't know what it's like until you experience it for yourself. I feel like that when I try to describe what it feels like to love, and be loved by these children. You can't know what it's like until you experience it for yourself. To know the darkness they have experienced and yet still shine. To know the abuse they have suffered and yet still smile. You would t...

Steven and Haley: {love is a language}

http://stevenandhaleyperez.blogspot.com/2013/02/love-is-language.html

Love is a language}. A lot of us have read the book The 5 Love Languages. And learned a lot about expressing and receiving love. In the Bible, God is always drawing His people back to Him in love. Over here, I speak two languages, and I am always trying to speak a third- love. Says we can be forgiven and try again. They have felt it, experienced it, seen it. They have learned of the love of Jesus Christ on the cross. That is our prayer of love. You Might Also Like. The countdown is on! When I compare kid...

An Extraordinary Life Journey. We hope that reading about our experiences inspires you to follow where God is leading you. Tuesday, May 12, 2015. After we left we continued talking with Marius and continued to pray for him. Others who were still there continued to work with him and mentor him, and even though there were and still are many ups and downs, he decided to follow Jesus Christ and to be baptized! Pray that they will be able to overcome their past and live into their identity as children of God ...

An Extraordinary Life Journey. We hope that reading about our experiences inspires you to follow where God is leading you. Thursday, September 25, 2014. Many of the kids wanted one last photo with us, so we can remember them and of course they want a copy too. Dani was very heartbroken that we are leaving. The kids have a range of emotional responses due to abandonment, but his was the most extreme. He sat in front of my car door bawling and saying he was not going to let me leave. An Extraordinary Life Journey. We hope that reading about our experiences inspires you to follow where God is leading you. Tuesday, November 4, 2014. We miss our kids back in Romania but at the same time we have been blessed by reconnecting with our friends and family here at home. It has been great to be able to do this at a slower pace than when were were only home for one month each year. Another new thing is that Rebecca has been trying out many new gluten free recipes. An Extraordinary Life Journey. We hope that reading about our experiences inspires you to follow where God is leading you. Saturday, August 30, 2014. Summer 2014 Prayer Update. It is always amazing how summer ministry seems to fly by. This summer was no exception, for nearly two months we put on camps and a VBS for all of the kids that we work with and more. Now that it is over we can look back and see what a fun and fruitful summer it was and that God was at work in everything that took place. August, a...

An Extraordinary Life Journey. We hope that reading about our experiences inspires you to follow where God is leading you. Monday, February 16, 2015. Our New Ministry - God Clearly Leads! Even as we felt called to transition back to the U.S. in order to build our family through adoption, we sensed God deepening our call to ministry. Through much prayer—on our own, with these pastors and with their church leadership—God gave us a strong sense that he was calling us to step into this ministry. Currently du...

An Extraordinary Life Journey. We hope that reading about our experiences inspires you to follow where God is leading you. Saturday, July 26, 2014. This past week was teen camp with the kids from Rosiori. Each day we had two testimonies and a big game time as well as free time. The last day we had a fun swim day at the public pool. We all had a lot of fun and a great team helping us. Listening to Maredda's testimony. Lots of fun with the Angry Birds game. A puppy that wandered into the yard. Next we have...

Early days. I mixed and mastered this as best I could with what I know, but its not great at the moment. Made is about empathizing with someone who is under a lot of emotional pressure. I know) You’re carrying the crown. But the crown lies heavy on your head. I know your feeling down. But this is what we’ve made.

Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Last weekend, Eric came for his second trip to Arizona. This one was a little cooler than the last! He landed Thursday, and we went straight to Pita Jungle, one of my faves, for dinner. Friday called for a trip to Grand Canyon.BRRRR! The high was only 39! I'm not used to that here in the desert. It's such a beautiful drive up through the countryside. We had perfect timing because Northern Arizona got over 20 inches of snow last night! Sunday, December 6, 2009. So much fun while...

Sunday, December 27, 2009. Posted by The Horne Family. Saturday, December 5, 2009. Seth woke me up this morning at 3:30 because he couldn't sleep. So, we went outside and found snow! So, we woke up Savannah and went outside while Steven Braden and Heath slept. Then Steven got up and went to work and the boys came out to play. Oh how the kids love snow. Posted by The Horne Family. The boys were in Gardendale's Christmas parade on Thursday night. It was cold so we bundled up and layered real good.
