Having been at work Sunday, when the birds were broadcast, I had to wait 'til the next morning to be able to get the chance to view them. Me good mate Ian Walker had been up that day with his wife Michelle and viewed the birds and was prepared to go up again early on Bank Holiday Monday morning to photograph them, before we went to Turf Moor to watch the Clarets. Gary Jenkins Bird Photography. Saturday, 30 October 2010. Waxwing, Barrow, Lancashire, 30th October 2010. An invasion of 88 Waxwings at nearby Barrow had Ian and Michelle Walker and myself heading for what we hoped would be excellant photographic opportunities. We weren't disappointed as the flock were gorging themselves on Rowan berries, much to the delight of the watching birders. There was a constant noise of waxwings and camera shutters going off! We were all happy with our images.

Gary Jenkins Bird Photography. Sunday, 20 November 2011. Desert Wheatear, Bempton, Yorkshire 27 November 2011. Had a great day out today with my good mate Mike Watson. He rung last night asking if I was up for a trip to Bempton, Yaarkshire for the Desert Wheatear thats been at the cliffs RSPB reserve. We set off at 0600 and had arrived by 0930. The one negative was the birder who blatently walked AT the bird without ant care for its welfare. Sad to hear also on the way home that Gary Speed had died.

Thursday, 13 August 2015. Iceland Trip - Black-tailed Godwits. Another of the waders that was on the list to be photographed in Iceland was the Black-tailed Godwit. Looking very smart in their summer colours. We do get some in the UK that are practically in breeding plumage, but I haven't seen any as stunning as these. SaaS - Steve as a Service. Secret Weapon - It's one of those fun titles you get when you are at a startup, but also one of which I have become fond. And so I've kept it. Originally it was a title to hide the fact I was single handedly building a entire shopping experience for what was mostly a static drag and drop website builder. Both have grown so much now. I'm humbled to see how people use the tools I have helped create, and the smart friends I get to work with.
