The Stevens Clan

Book Review: "The Grace Of God", Andy Stanley. Wasn't as "meaty" as I had hoped. A bonus is I've come to see some of the Bible's stories in a whole new light - especially the story of the woman at the well. So why did I give it an "A-" instead of something better? The Stevens Clan: March 2011

http://stevensclan.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Parental ponderings and homeschool wonderings. Soa lot's been going on in this head of mine (shocking, I know). If you are a Christian parent, you NEED to pick up a copy of "Family Driven Faith" by Voddie Bachaum, Jr., in my humble opinion. It's literally changing my life. Here's the deal - estimates on the low side. Are that 70% of teens raised as believers leave the faith before the end of their first year of college. "Why? To "preach" the gospel to your children? If I truly feel God is calling me to h...

The Stevens Clan: May 2011

May is 2 BIG birthdays around these neck of the woods! John turn 6 on the 5th and for 13 days, I've had 2 six-year-olds! But, alas, Elizabeth is 7 today! I seem to have neglected to do John's birthday post. Have no idea why! So here they are together! John, shortly after coming home from the NICU. Elizabeth, just shy of 2 and John, just shy of 1, at the zoo. PLEASE do ignore the messy kitchen! Just after Uncle Fred and Aunt Marcy's wedding, 2008. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Stevens Clan: December 2010

http://stevensclan.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Hope your Christmas was merry! Praise God for the best gift we could ever receive - Jesus Christ! Christmas started on Christmas Eve in the Stevens household. Since we were unable to be with my family this year, we decided to let them open gifts from my parents and my aunt. The kids were surprised to find an XBox 360 w/ Kinect from my mom and dad! Stockings hung, ready to go. This is what a tree looks like with toddlers around - all the ornaments up high and the lights all pulled off the bottom :). And I...

The Stevens Clan: July 2010

http://stevensclan.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Don't seem to be blogging much these days, thanks to Facebook and Twitter. So here's an update of what's going on. Tomorrow, another birthday post is coming! Has been working his you-know-what off. They just completed a major project at work so hopefully he can get back to his "regular" job now. Not that his regular job is any less stressful. I know he'd appreciate your prayers as he strives to get his work done and still be with his family. She now weighs exactly the same thing Caleb does, 54 pounds!

The Stevens Clan: August 2011

http://stevensclan.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

It's so hard to believe it's half-way through August already. What a summer, though! Most of our summer was spent preparing for our trip to Turkey. We had a blast, although there were some hiccups back home with the kids. John (6) suffered from severe homesickness but those who had him - church friends the Snyder's - did a fabulous job with him! If you follow me on Facebook, there are some pictures there. I'm too lazy to post them here - sorry! Maybe another day.). When we homeschooled in the past, I alw...

Without God's power, the Bauer's have no power!: May 2011

http://withoutgodspowerthebauershavenopower.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Justin at 7.5 months. His first pontoon boat ride. Austin at 1 year. When dandelion seeds are still cute. Sunday, May 22, 2011. Mother's Day, plus a few extras. I am way behind, but what else is new these days? Mother's Day started out at church w/the kids singing a song, in front of the church, to the parents. After church, we went home for lunch. Later, we decided it was such a beautiful day (it was suppose to rain) that we would take the kids to the park. They all 3 love to swing. Links to this post.

Justin at 7.5 months. His first pontoon boat ride. Austin at 1 year. When dandelion seeds are still cute. Monday, March 21, 2011. St Patty's Day foods and other updates. Matt's marines in training. Karen proceeded to read the kids Green Eggs and Ham, a book on Saint Patrick, and show them slide pictures of Ireland. She also helped them make shamrocks. Jonathan and I had a meeting at church, so Karen offered to watch all of my kids and hers at the church. Long fun day! When I get through taxes and redoing...

This was the day Selah was born. Loved this pic of a double rainbow a few weeks back. This was 2 days after Selah was born. Lily went looking for me in the house and here is where she ended up.in the dining room bay window. This was the cherub choir singing at church. This pic cracks me up. Links to this post.

Karen and 3 of her kids came over this morning for a Valentine breakfast and lunch. Elizabeth needed to do some homeschooling fun, so we all benefited. View from very close up. Notice I ran out of black fondant on one of the black pops. I think if I had taken a pic from the roof top it would have looked more like a soccer ball. Justin at 7.5 months. His first pontoon boat ride. Austin at 1 year. When dandelion seeds are still cute. Tuesday, February 1, 2011. My newest-old favorite piece of furniture. I have wanted to build (I mean, have built) a bench seat w/storage under our dining room bay window ever since we moved in 3 years ago. For extra seating because we never seem to have enough w/guests over. And more storage of course! I mean, really, who truly ever has enough of it? Now I have a new problem. My current oak table...
