Knit Fire With Spitfire: November WIP's and a sock review
http://knitfirewithspitfire.blogspot.com/2013/12/november-wips-and-sock-review.html
Knit Fire With Spitfire. A knitting blog with a frantic woman who loves making socks. December 5, 2013. November WIP's and a sock review. I have finished a new crop of Puffs for the Bee Keeper's Quilt! I just love these little guys! I can't make just one, and I spent all of Thanksgiving making them. I lined them up. I don't know, it was much more orderly this way, stop judging me. I can't wait to show you the holiday stuff, but I can't. That's not fair to those who want to be surprised. Sheri at The Loop...

Passion from a Stone: Fruit – It’s what’s for dinner!
http://passionstone.blogspot.com/2012/10/fruit-its-whats-for-dinner.html
Thursday, October 25, 2012. Fruit – It’s what’s for dinner! I have shared this strategy with quite a few people and a number of times those same people have come back to me to tell me how much they appreciated the idea. So, it must be blog worthy. Right? At least this is the case when you have children of the stubborn variety. I hear tales of kids who always eat everything that they are offered and regularly try new foods…but I believe that they are either myths or outliers. Caveat – we know famili...
Passion from a Stone: November 2011
http://passionstone.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Things I’m looking forward to this long weekend (in no particular order):. 1 – Spending time with the kids while they are surrounded by relatives and friends someplace other than our house. This means that I won’t be multi-tasking on chores while spending time with them and they will (probably) be on their best behavior because of the other people. Also, they will spend time playing with others while I sit and watch (and knit). Also, this post is to remind myself that the cr...
Passion from a Stone: February 2012
http://passionstone.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 25, 2012. Sometimes it is daunting to try to capture a moment in time in a blog post. It is easier when I am remembering an anecdote or talking about a specific topic. But I find it almost overwhelming to summarize an age or summarize what my kids are like “right now”. I do it, because I know it is something that my family and I will value in the future. Heather is five. Five? I went back and read what I wrote last year. Four. Quite a lot of it still applies. There are more movies ...
Passion from a Stone: July 2012
http://passionstone.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 15, 2012. I am not sure what is more sad…the fact that I have only posted once this year. Or the fact that I posted in a timely fashion about Heather’s birthday and not about Todd's. So let’s bring the number of posts for the year up to two by talking about our little man who is now three. There are pros and cons of being a second child. I’m not talking about competitive comparisons, just “isn’t that interesting” comparisons.). Three doesn’t seem as monumental as it did the first time. He ca...

Off the Hook Astronomy: February 2015
http://offthehookastronomy.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Off the Hook Astronomy. Crochet, knitting, astronomy and life in general. Saturday, February 21, 2015. Gosh I've knit a lot of things for babies over the years! And Octie the Octopus. Get the pattern here. My most recent creation was for my little one-year-old niece from Switzerland. For her first half-birthday, I had given her what the boyfriend affectionately calls the "Pants Monster", but would more accurately be called Kevin the Unibody Monster from the Monster Mobile. He's also quite computer savvy:.

Sticks and Stories — Just another WordPress site
Just another WordPress site. October 22, 2013. October 1, 2013. No Reason To Think. September 24, 2013. There is no need to think. I said that once, I thought it often (yes, I see the contradiction here) and I stand by it. There is never any need to think. It is hard to accept this idea, I know. One goes straight to working, making, fixing, planning. The everyday tasks organized by mind, by thoughts, by explanations and definitions, by understanding. There was no thinking involved. There was never an...

Bits of randomness from the life of a knitting musician. Monday, April 18, 2011. Not much news from the knitting world. I haven't been doing much. Pretty much the only thing I have to say is that my cat ruined Charlea's Easter chick toy that I was planning on giving to her on Easter. I am finally going to start practicing with my church band. I am going to play guitar! Anything new with any of you out there? Friday, April 8, 2011. Notice the little fishes on the side? They are so addicting to play with!

Sticks & Strings & Sewing Things
Sticks and Strings and Sewing Things. Tuesday, July 2, 2013. I've become a Bag Lady. No, not in the context you think. Apparently I've become obsessed with MAKING bags. :). My sister "commissioned" me to make her some fabric produce bags a few weeks back, and she loved them so much she asked for more. Here's a few pics of the final products:. Reusable grocery bag, pattern based off a plastic grocery bag. I love that this folds/rolls up, throw a ponytail holder around it and it's compact and portable!
