Stirring In My Soul. Thursday, June 21, 2012. On Tuesday when I went out surfing, I knew I'd have a rough time. The waves were big, the ocean was choppy, and it took FOREVER to paddle out. I did my best and that's all I can do, right? Well, the next day Alonzo (an instructor) said to me, "This is a Taylor wave" (and puts his hand close to his leg) then he holds his hand up above his head and says, "These are the waves today. Not Taylor waves! Holy crap those waves were big! Today surfing was a blast!
