Stitcherydo: June 2014

http://stitcherydo.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, 26 June 2014. It took a bit of doing but eventually I got there and round two of the Di Ford Mystery Quilt is done. There is a lot of work in that two inch border but it transformed the already beautiful centre to a new level. Part three may be a while yet but in progress. Anyone else have a favourite. Stitcherydo: August 2014

http://stitcherydo.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Thursday, 14 August 2014. Last week I met for the first time a very dear and special friend who arrived in the UK from Sweden to visit the Festival of Quilts. She came bearing the most beautiful gift. I had seen glimpses of this quilt as it was being made but with no idea it was for me. It is called Joy of Life and is a pattern by Rosalie Quinlan. It is simply beautiful and I love it. The quilting on it is amazing and I shall treasure it for always. Made for me by this beautiful lady known as Stina.

Stitcherydo: Sutton Grange Progress

http://stitcherydo.blogspot.com/2015/03/sutton-grange-progress.html

Sunday, 22 March 2015. I thought of making little stars for the corners and the colour is perfect but it does not fit the square so it is back to the drawing board. I still may or may not applique butterflies. There is no rush. At least I shall have something to show Di on her return visit. Oh yes! More trouble and a brand new quilt. I am so excited. I have also started a new baby quilt. Following on from the bubble theme. Fussy cut bubbles. 22 March 2015 at 22:51. 22 March 2015 at 23:00. So admire your ...

Stitcherydo: June 2015

http://stitcherydo.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, 21 June 2015. The Album Parallel Lines by Blondie was one our favourite when my husband and I first met and we played it over and over. I am mentioning it for several reasons. One, because it reminds me of Summer and today is glorious. Two, because it sprang to mind as I am quilting parallel lines on my Trip Around The World quilt. Plus, it is still a great album. So many tracks to choose from and I hope the link works. Sunday Girl by Blondie. This week my kitchen has gone from this. And a mini f...

Sew Annie Sew: March 2016

http://sewanniesew.blogspot.com/2016_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, 26 March 2016. Small pouch with flap. I do like making small gifts for my friends particularly when they have a special birthday. I really like this Lynette Anderson embroidery design which uses simple stitches to great effect and the little blue bird is delightful. I have lined the pouch with blue fleecy fabric and my friend is using it for her reading specs. The method for making up the pouch is very simple and I made another some time ago which I use for my rotary cutter. 3¾” x 16. Sew these...

Sew Annie Sew: August 2016

http://sewanniesew.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html

Thursday, 25 August 2016. Just a very quick post this time - I got a bit excited this morning when I randomly laid out all the big hexagons that I have made since I wrote about making donuts. They're looking really interesting . or do I mean weird! Some still don't have their centres. This is how the big hexagons are made by sewing diamonds to the donuts. I'm hoping to make enough for a quillow after the success of the one in my last post. That means I've. Happy Stitching - Anita x. Friday, 19 August 2016.

Sew Annie Sew: Trunk Full of House Quilts

http://sewanniesew.blogspot.com/2016/11/trunk-full-of-house-quilts.html

Friday, 18 November 2016. Trunk Full of House Quilts. Soma of Whims and Fancies is hosting the "Trunk Full of Quilts 2016". And I've decided to collect up all my quilts featuring houses to show - not that they would fill a very big trunk as the largest of them is only 27" x 34". Below is the most recent which features my house and all my husband's sheds. You can read about it in a previous post here. Then in chronological order starting with the oldest and smallest first, this is "Wash-day at the Nook".

Sew Annie Sew: December 2016

http://sewanniesew.blogspot.com/2016_12_01_archive.html

Thursday, 15 December 2016. A Fabric Christmas at Flowerpatch. Despite a very misty evening there were plenty of members at the Flowerpatch Quilters December meeting and we had a relaxing time sewing some simple folded Christmas decorations, chatting and eating yummy mince pies. These are the three designs that we sewed with links to the methods for making:. Folded 5" circle making a square. Folded 5" pentagon making a star. And this is a link for printing out different sizes of pentagon. I felt that she...

Monday, January 25, 2010. Getting the Hang of It! Thank you so much for your kind comments and lovely emails. There are so many helpful and sharing people out there. I hope I'm replying the correct way. If I missed you it's because I'm just learning! Thanks for the feedback on my header quilt. It is my own design and I used a little bit of a few different antique quilts. The centre idea is from Aunty Green. I am so inspired by Janet http:/ quiltsalott.blogspot.com/. Sew Annie Sew: Eva Owl - lino printing

http://sewanniesew.blogspot.com/2016/12/eva-owl-lino-printing.html

Thursday, 1 December 2016. Eva Owl - lino printing. A while ago I had a brilliant day at Cartwheels Craft Centre. Doing a lino printing workshop with Louise Nichols. (Louise gave a talk at the last Flowerpatch Quilters meeting which you can read about in a previous post. We could draw our own design to print and I decided to do Eva Owl from my wall hanging "It's a Hoot". For my first attempt. This is how she has finally turned out! And Father Christmasses, all made from our homegrown wood. And there is a...

Love Alfie: Sibling's Together Quilt #1

http://love-alfie.blogspot.com/2012/04/siblings-together-quilt-1.html

Tuesday, 10 April 2012. Sibling's Together Quilt #1. This Easter has given me time to indulge in more sewing. I've been working on the 'secret project' - now affectionately nicknamed 'The Beast' - there's still a fair bit of work to do on it, but I'm making progress. A couple of months ago I'd set my mum the challenge of finding me some. While I was cutting, I thought these might make a good quilt for a teenage boy for the Siblings Together Quilt project. Labels: Quilts for Siblings Together. It looks fa...

Love Alfie: Spring is in the air!

http://love-alfie.blogspot.com/2012/04/spring-is-in-air.html

Monday, 2 April 2012. Spring is in the air! I even got chance to sit in the garden last weekend for an hour or so to do some hand sewing! I was finishing off the baby quilt for one of my lovely friends whose baby is due in a couple of months. I won't post a full picture of the quilt in case she looks, but you can have a sneak preview! I'm loving these colours together, and I've quilted it with a thin batting, so it's really light but still snuggly. Brenda at Just A Bit Frayed. For the Bust Yo! I know tha...

Sew Annie Sew: Christmas Circles

http://sewanniesew.blogspot.com/2016/10/christmas-circles.html

Saturday, 29 October 2016. Follow my blog with Bloglovin. Well I'm really getting ahead of myself this year! Most years I sew a little something to add to my collection of homemade Christmas decorations, but this is usually a last minute affair when there's less than a week to go! I've recently seen two lovely tree decorations that take my fancy especially as they both involve a folded circle and I have tried them out already - Angels and Squares. I cut two contrasting squares of fabric. For my angel's w...

Stitchery Dickery Dock - Blog

I confess I did little to no research on this particular aspect of wardrobe building beyond noticing belts on dresses. This was a real easy little project: I took my waist measurement, added about two inches in length and cut out a roughly four inch wide piece of black Kona cotton (I got Kona, despite the extra price because it's heavier and I figured I want a belt to stand up to some wear and tear and buckle changes). Modern dress.don't mind it. ;). I did tiny little whip-stitches along the inner edge o...

Stitchery Dickory Dock — Cuckoo for Quilting

The Woman Behind the Blog. The Appliqued Curves Method- New Quilts & A Tutorial. June 19, 2015. Well, I finally got that Apple Blossom mini quilt that was featured in McCall’s Quilting a few months back, put together into a full quilt pattern. One task down, 963 to go. This had definitely been near the top of my to-do list for awhile, A) because I adore it, and B) because I received so many lovely comments and requests about it! Last week). Essentially it’s just the use of freezer paper machine...1 To st...

Stitchery Doo's Blog | For the Love of Cross Stitch

Stitchery Doo’s Blog. For the Love of Cross Stitch. January 24, 2010. It’s been a long time since my last post. Things here have been crazy. We all of us worked overtime in order to get the house paid off on time, so we’ll not go homeless this year. :). MRI and CATscan reports are in! September 1, 2009. I finally got the results of my MRI and CATscan. First, the good news: I don’t have a brain tumor. Yay! August 19, 2009. Next is the Totally Useless Stitch Along. Next come the Quakers.
