stitches and tea

Sunday, December 18, 2011. Christmas decorating, roses and a cookie recipe too. I work in retail and am responsible for the Christmas tree decorating in the store. It's a huge undertaking. This year there are more than 30 themed trees. I touch every single ornament many times over from mid-September when I start sorting them, until I go to the gift market in Atlanta in January at which time, those that are left, are 75% off and I'm pretty sick of them. stitches and tea: August 2011

http://www.stitchesandtea.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 28, 2011. 2 weeks from tomorrow til I see your lovely face and drink tea in my favourite kitchen (no matter how it looks)! I foresee a madeline baking in my near future. X! 183; See Friendship. This is a Facebook message from Shannon who, as you can surmise, is coming from South Africa to visit in 2 weeks. I can hardly wait to hug her, hold her, bake madeleines and do what she pleases in the 3 days I'll have her home! To which my answer was : "Oh, yes I am! I am on my knees. As far as my b...

Sunday, October 30, 2011. Visitors at my bottle tree. Last week I was in the kitchen early, making a cup of {coffee} and as I was waiting for it to brew, I walked over to the bay window and absent mindedly looked out into the back yard. I was happily surprised to see no less than THREE deer sniffing my bottle tree! A lot with mixed feelings :(. Sunday, October 30, 2011. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Monday, November 07, 2011. Limoncello Cake : Yum! Walked on the beach, visited South Port, a quaint seaside community complete with many antique stores, talked way. Into the nights and also did some smocking on a christening gown she's making. It was all so. My friend is an expert at making limoncello. The Italian lemon liqueur. OMG! It's like liquid gold! As an aside, my first introduction to limoncello. Cake would taste like. So I added limoncello. And swirled it onto the layers.Mwah! Bringing in the h...

An exploration of rural cooking with basic tools and simple ingredients. Home on the Range. Home on the Range. My garden is lucky to have a good suppy of water. A large dam higher up on the farm supplies me with water year-round although the Free State catches its rainy season between October and February. My garden’s soil is sandy and fine. In early 2011 I kneaded some elephant dung in the soil (only in Africa, hey? Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public). You are...

An exploration of rural cooking with basic tools and simple ingredients. Home on the Range. The Ultimate Orange Vegan Cake. Posted by S Brinkley. April 30, 2012. So let me get on with it! Orange Vegan Cake is delicious, it is moist, it is delicate in flavour yet obvious, it is the cakes grown-ups are made to eat. And to top that, it’s easy to make and doesn’t require very many special ingredients or any special tools. By I S. Rombauer, M. R. Becker, and E. Becker, page 932. 1 1/2 C all-purpose flour.

An exploration of rural cooking with basic tools and simple ingredients. Home on the Range. Pineapple Mango Tarts with Lemon Cream. Posted by S Brinkley. May 5, 2012. In case you haven’t noticed, I adore cream. But honestly, cream felt like the right companion for these little divas, and so whipped cream with a touch of lemon came to mind. The combo is a winner and can easily be served as dessert or as an accompaniment to afternoon tea. Devour and enjoy! 8 sheets phyllo pastry. 3 T powdered sugar. Bring ...

haute cocoa. | from stitches to sugar…

From stitches to sugar…. I’d like S’more of that…. May 3, 2012. Peanut butter cup s’mores are my new favorite dessert. What’s not to like about peanut butter, chocolate, marshmallow, and graham crackers? Exactly. This dessert is easy to make and you can freeze them to last forever. While these are a tiny treat, one square will satisfy your sweet tooth! Here is the recipe:. 1/2 cup butter, softened. 1/2 cup packed brown sugar. 1 1/4 cups flour. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1 cup graham cracker crumbs. Althou...

Stitches and Supper | Moving through life one stitch and one dish at a time!

Moving through life one stitch and one dish at a time! Shawls, scarfs and cowls. Continue Reading →. 11 August, 2015. The result was delicious! Continue Reading →. 11 August, 2015.

May 21, 2011. I love this block.  I think you could do so many pretty configurations with it for a quilt.  Its the scrappy striped block from this tutorial. 0160;from The Joy Cottage. 0160;I used it for the 3x6 sampler quilt mini bee that I joined. Earlier this year. I mailed them out this week so they should all be with their owners by now. Here they are! Gray, pink, red, aqua/turquoise for oneygirl. Green, pink, aqua/turquoise for goldwillow. Gray orange, raspberry for malama. Look at that fabric!
