A Community Meal ministry is operated by church groups at our premises certain nights of the week, serving the disadvantaged in our community. Please contact us for further information and offers of support. Note that the Tuesday night group, "The Dining Room", is now an authorised parish project and can attract tax deductible donations. Social evening for women in the Fellowship Room. First Thursday, 1:30pm. In the Fellowship Room. Part of worldwide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service. St John the Divine from Wicklow Avenue. The photograph below was taken at Christmas 2001 and is an example of the beautiful hangings which are always seasonally appropriate. The church is fortunate in having a number of "works of art" including the following:. The Resurrection panel being the final panel of the panels representing the Stations of the Cross carved by Eva Schubert and installed in 1988. Crucifix carved by Eva Schubert and installed in 1983. Monday 11 July 2016 - Fundraising Meeting. 730pm A meeting to discuss 'Trash'n'Treasure' and other things. Saturday 16 July 2016 - Parish fundraiser. Trash'n'Treasure, cakes, jams, etc. Start collecting now! Nowhere at home to store the goods? No problem - we'll find room at the church. Sunday 31 July 2016- Undie Sunday. Collecting underwear to be donated to the Asylum Seekers Resource Centre. Sunday 7 August 2016- 'Foods for Winter' Parish Lunch. After the 10am combined service - 11.45-12pm.

Music at St John's. The organ at St. John the Divine was built by George Fincham, and was originally erected in the North Fitzroy Methodist Church in 1921. It was rebuilt by Robert Heatley and erected in the Church of St. John the Divine as the Centenary Organ. It was officially opened and blessed on 3 May 1981. St John s has a fine tradition of music and new members of the choir are very welcome. The organist would be happy to give information on joining the choir or about our Fincham pipe organ.
