Stories from a housefull

Stories from a housefull. Thursday, October 21, 2010. Household Management- How do you do it? Let me say first- that I don't perfectly balance it all. Something always suffers. I am the daughter of a hoarder, so what I consider clean is different than what others consider clean, I'm sure. That said with 6 children it is important to have systems and routines. I make a menu- even for breakfasts, not just dinners. I do not do this for lunch except in the summer when everyone is home. The children m...Cold ...

Stories from a housefull: Daddy, you can have my quarter...

http://www.storiesfromahousefull.blogspot.com/2006/01/daddy-you-can-have-my-quarter.html

Stories from a housefull. Friday, January 20, 2006. Daddy, you can have my quarter. To help buy the new house. This was said to Dan by Gus (age 5). It was a nickel by the way, but the thought is what really mattered. I'm SO excited for you. Congratulations on the new house! Hmmm maybe you can mask the contemporary look? If you need any help or Joe's expertise, let us know. I don't really have an expertise in this area but we could always go (window) shopping. ;). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://www.storiesfromahousefull.blogspot.com/2006/01/junkerstuff-i-mean-where-does-it-all.html

Stories from a housefull. Tuesday, January 03, 2006. Junker.stuff I mean- where does it all come from? And how do I store it all? I sware things multiply while my back is turned. Since we are at a point where I can not be in a pregnancy on bedrest, we are using NFP to avoid more children. So yes, I am giving away the little girl things when Meg out grows them, and giving away the boy stuff when Greg outgrows them, but SHEESH! Freecycle, here I come! Circling Jericho: Jars

http://circlingjericho.blogspot.com/2012/07/jars.html

My spiritual journey as it relates to mothering my children and being a wife and family member. Sunday, July 8, 2012. That this year has been a little overwhelming. Although I am starting to think that this is just the new normal for us. With nine children, that gives us eleven people worth of possible drama and crisis in the family. So even if only a few of them are doing their share of it, that keeps us hopping. Yet now his creditor has come to take my two children into servitude.”. View my complete pr...

Circling Jericho: Where am I now?

http://circlingjericho.blogspot.com/2011/08/where-am-i-now.html

My spiritual journey as it relates to mothering my children and being a wife and family member. Sunday, August 7, 2011. Where am I now? Writing that last post. Left me with a lot to think about. God is WITH me. I really felt the need to just spend some time with that idea and let it sink in a bit. What does that mean to me in my life? What does that mean to me today. How could I do any of the things that I wanted to do like write or read or make rosaries while under this extreme work load? Are you seeing...

Circling Jericho: Control and Surrender, Part 1

http://circlingjericho.blogspot.com/2011/06/control-and-surrender-part-1.html

My spiritual journey as it relates to mothering my children and being a wife and family member. Wednesday, June 15, 2011. Control and Surrender, Part 1. I gave a retreat this past weekend, my first, and my writing for this has been such a journey, it seemed worthy of including here. It certainly has been a part of my wandering in circles around my personal Jericho. I’m not sure if control brings peace or just the illusion of peace. Sometimes I think I would settle for an illusion of peace! So it occurred...

Circling Jericho: Distraction

http://circlingjericho.blogspot.com/2012/07/distraction.html

My spiritual journey as it relates to mothering my children and being a wife and family member. Sunday, July 1, 2012. Writing this has been a little ironic. Phones ringing, kids running back and forth, needing a drink of water, spilling water, peeing pants, give me a ride, Mom can I., Mom he just., {crash), {waahh}, or the worst - silence. Luke 10:38-42 As they continued their journey he entered a village where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him. She had a sister named Mary [who] sat beside t...

Circling Jericho: Just Keep Swimming

http://circlingjericho.blogspot.com/2012/01/just-keep-swimming.html

My spiritual journey as it relates to mothering my children and being a wife and family member. Sunday, January 1, 2012. I'd like to jump back in here without mentioning just how long I have been away, but I just can't help myself. When I pulled up the page and it told me the last post was in August. I just couldn't believe how much time had slipped by. To give myself a little credit, I did have a baby in that time and since then my days have been busy. The next time he knows that I am going to step back...

My spiritual journey as it relates to mothering my children and being a wife and family member. Sunday, June 19, 2011. Control and Surrender, Part 2. It's Sunday again, and if you read Part 1. Of this series, then you know how I am feeling. There is so much I want to get done this week, and I am feeling the need to sit down and schedule it all out. I have great new books to read ( I Believe in Love: A Personal Retreat Based on the Teaching of St. Therese of Lisieux. And The Night Is Far Spent. So persona...

Stories from Africa

Things to do when snowed in for 2 days. Http:/ lara-loco.blogspot.com/. View my complete profile. Wednesday, October 8, 2008. Here's a little video reflection on our time in Rwanda. Tuesday, September 23, 2008. A Word from Shane. Now a reflection from Shane. It was our first trip to Africa. We did a little talking and a lot of listening. We saw humanity at its worst… and at its best. You could feel the blood cry out from the land. Perhaps the cry goes all the way back to the first murder in human his...

May is here and I have time to spare. Everyone is running off to visit their families, the beaches, and enjoy a break from the usual. Last week I caught a ride to Mysore for the day with Tara and some of her coworkers. While they sat in meetings, I visited the Mysore Palace and walked around the city a bit. There are stories to tell, but not today - I'm leaving for Goa this afternoon (12 hours by bus ). Sarah and I are staying with Sonia Shirsat, India's only Fado. A day in the life of rebecca.
