Stories from Many Moons Ago. A place to share my adventures and discoveries from researching my family tree. Wednesday, 11 May 2011. Wordless Wednesday - Great Great Grandfather. This is a photo of my Great Great Grandfather, Alexander Rutherford,(1843-1900). He was a fisherman and came from the fishing village of Newhaven, Edinburgh. It's Story Time...

Monday, February 25, 2013. This is getting kind of scary! Yesterday I spoke in church. Afterwards people came over and I talked and talked and talked. By 4 my voice was gone. I haven't been feeling well anyways, so talking all day probably wasn't the best decision. Oh well. Now I sound great. Hopefully my voice will be back to normal before wednesday! I wouldn't want them asking me to come back in a week or anything because that really would be awful. Saturday, February 23, 2013. That I leave in 4 days?

Stories from Maryville

Wednesday, July 31, 2013. A Tale of Two Vacations. There are few times you are given the opportunity to evenly compare large events in your life. It is due to the rarity of this circumstance that two family vacations loom so largely in my consciousness. Both trips fell over my birthday; and while they were both to amazing places, they could not have been more divergent in their feel. In 1989 my husband told me he was taking me and our children to. 8221; He replied dryly, “Yes, so? Instantly was a differe...
