I told my partner about 5 years before that I would look after him, my biggest reason for getting a place to live…. My mother passed away and I could not save her. I had to tell a lot of people in my family, including my brother, who thought it was my fault. I listened to my older brother and sister and signed my part of the house over to my brother. At first he provided for me, but it didn’t work. He sold the house and told me just 12 hours before.

Working with Pathway has helped me through the dark bits and has given me a purpose…. I became homeless in 2013 after my landlord verbally and physically abused my girlfriend who is 20 years younger than me and black. My landlord thought she was a prostitute. When I confronted him he abused me and gave me notice to quit. 2 days later my car was written off by a lorry. This meant I couldn’t get to work as a plumber. I then run out of money and luck.

Hope is a small word but has such a deep impact on our lives…. I was probably at rock bottom when I first made the steps away from homelessness; I sex-worked around the clock so I had somewhere rather than on the streets. If I wasn’t working I was using and as a last resort I would sleep rough. The way I managed to escape homelessness was all through my bad times I could close my eyes and see my sons face…. I became homeless in January 2011 due to marriage breaking down due to my substance and alcohol abuse. I spent the majority this period of homelessness sofa surfing and staying with friends but soon became unmanageable due to my drug and alcohol abuse. Ldquo; The one thing that got me out of being homeless was other peoples’ inspiration…”. I was living on and off the streets for around 3 or 4 years. I was born in Glasgow and I moved to London mid 70s. I stayed in bedsit while I was working but then the job came to an end. The first thing was I couldn’t afford rent, so I started rough sleeping in empty properties. I wanted to capture that energy and interpret how he has turned his own life around. Anonymous.

Just another WordPress.com site. Also something that was quite funny was how Spanish was seen as another language here in Botswana. Because in the americas Spanish is predominant throughout the area, especially in my community and at Pitzer. Although the UB students had heard Spanish and knew some words they were quite intrigued with the language and very enthusiastic to learn a lot about it. On July 7, 2011 at 3:59 pm Leave a Comment. Friday, May 21, 2010. Man Up, Husbands! In Ephesians 5:25-33 husbands are commanded to love their wives as God loves them. This command can only be accomplished as men place themselves under the control of the Holy Spirit. Realizing this, I have come to conclude that most women never experience true love from their husbands. Why? Links to this post. Labels: Words of Encouragement. Friday, May 14, 2010.
