A Tha Thom Farewell. Other Blogs to Read. Tuesday, June 18, 2013. Laos is known for its strange and bizarre cuisine and so when we mentioned to Jyoti that we would give her a taste of rice worms for lunch, she wasn't taken aback. Our mention of 'rice worms' implied the sweet Lao snack, "nam wan" or sweet water. The 'rice worms' weren't worms at all, but rather made from brightly colored rice flour, squeezed into a small 'worm' shape. These 'rice worms' swim. The Never-to-be Facebook Upload. All at the sa...

Other Blogs to Read. Thursday, May 31, 2012. When I bought the breaker I immediately noticed the word "Fluke" written in red and black bold letters on it's side. I turned to Dad saying, "How can we trust a breaker with a name like that? The heater could not run at more than half power without tripping the breaker. I did the math and even sent it to Dad to have him check. There was no way our water heater could be drawing more than 20amps. Jeffrey and Kaarina Knisely. Wednesday, May 9, 2012. The second si...

http://slbishop.blogspot.com/2013/05/my-hands-are-small.html
Follow me on my journey down a new road. Tuesday, 14 May 2013. My hands are small. My hands are small, I know. But they're not yours, they are my own. But they're not yours, they are my own. And I am never broken. We are never broken. We are God's eyes. God's mind. God's Heart. We are God's hands. Love, Aunt Stephanie. 18 May 2013 at 15:45. Follow me on my journey down a new road. Sunday, 16 September 2012. I am back from a sunny, sandy visit to Namibia with my cousin and her husband from Australia, and have just received a visitor from my home in Edmonton. I will leave my friend to recover from jet lag for a few days as I help BOCAIP with a resource mobilization workshop and Annual General Meeting. So, you may not hear much from me until I am back in early October. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Stepping off the Edge.

Follow me on my journey down a new road. Thursday, 23 May 2013. Rue Sansregret: Full Circle. I attended a debriefing session for recently returned Uniterra volunteers in Montreal. It was an opportunity to discuss and share experiences and give program related feedback to the Uniterra team. I was in the company of those who recently returned from placements in Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Bolivia, Peru, Senegal, Ghana, and Malawi. I was the only one there who had been placed in Botswana. Rue Sansregret: ...And Then Some !
http://slbishop.blogspot.com/2013/04/and-then-some.html
Follow me on my journey down a new road. Wednesday, 24 April 2013. My Aunt Eleanor was a true inspiration to all of us. She was the eldest of 5 siblings, raised in Montreal, Quebec. My father describes her as an "ice-breaker" who cleared the waters for her younger siblings. She challenged convention and tradition to make life a little easier for those following along behind her. It was a touching reunion, with short daily visits, a trip to a nearby animal sanctuary, and the reliving of fond memories over...

Follow me on my journey down a new road. Tuesday, 18 December 2012. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! On Sunday, I hosted "WUSCY COOKIE Madness" at my house. Melissa, Haley, David, Alison, Thandi, Becca and I baked up a storm of brownies, cupcakes, fudge, shortbread, and peanut butter balls. While the baking was cooling, so were we - in the pool! Christmas in Africa - what can I say? Christmas decorations, courtesy of my family! Becca and Thandi mixing cupcake batter. Saturday, 8 December 2012.
