My 2.2 cents (GST Inc.): June 2005
http://mytwopointtwocents.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
My 22 cents (GST Inc.). It is a real prick when your opinions are taxed. Australia least powerful political blog. (Plus any other crap I want to talk about.). Wednesday, June 29, 2005. Labor, if they were smart (and less face it at the moment they don't seem to be too smart) they would start proclaiming that they would cut the other Commonwealth Government taxes on the petrol to oppose the rise in money raised by the increasing GST. Thoughts from the other Andrew Johnson. For the sake of it: Howard vs Costello. October 31, 2010. Posted by theunimpeachedone in Federal. After a long hiatus (primarily as a result of a new job) I thought it was necessary to comment on what has turned out to be the most extraordinary twelve months in politics in my lifetime. But before I launch into that new world I thought I would take a moment to comment on the old world, the Howard world. With the release of Lazarus Rising. However, let’s explor...

My 2.2 cents (GST Inc.): March 2005

My 22 cents (GST Inc.). It is a real prick when your opinions are taxed. Australia least powerful political blog. (Plus any other crap I want to talk about.). Thursday, March 31, 2005. I just realised I don't "upsell" myself enough, which could explain a bit. well, a lot actually. When you walk into a fast-food resturant they say "Do you want fries with that? And of course six out of ten people say yes before they realise that they have just order something they don't really want. Soundtrack to the War.

The 1975 Exception | The Unimpeached One

Thoughts from the other Andrew Johnson. February 19, 2011. Posted by theunimpeachedone in Federal. This lesson is an important one to learn not just in law school but also in the political school of the Australian Parliament. Anyone who suggests they are employing the 1975 strategy needs to remember those wise words, ‘1975 is the exception’. This thinking seems to have infected the Liberal Party. While Gillard’s grip on power remains tenuous Abbott continues to want to feed a sense of illegitim...Finally...

Thoughts from the other Andrew Johnson. What can ‘Can Do’ really do? March 22, 2011. Posted by theunimpeachedone in Uncategorized. This promptly precipitated the resignation of John Paul Langbroek and Lawrence Springborg, finally putting paid to the chance of either becoming premier (I always thought a Springborg comeback was a possibility). We of course go the usual nice words about how Langbroek was a true gentleman leader which is code for weak and ineffectual. The idea of having to run in a seat need...

Bite My Latte: August 2011
http://bitemylatte.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, 28 August 2011. In this post, I'd like to formally apologise for reaching 43 summers before reading Kingsley Amis' Lucky Jim. Christopher Hitchens is right, it is the finest comic novel of the 2nd half of the the 20th century; but not as right as some bloke called Toby Young, who chucks in the first half as well. Finally, oh fickle Lords of memory, please let the requisite time of forgetting pass quickly, so I can read it again. Labels: Ill-informed Lit Crit. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
