Site constructed by Roger Heaton and Tony Clayton. St Peter's Church is situated in the village of Lenton, making up the Parish of Lenton, Hanby, Keisby and Osgodby in south Lincolnshire. The settlement of Lofinton (Lavington-cum-Lenton) predates the Domesday Survey and lies to the west of the Roman road, King Street, which ran between Ancaster in the north to Bourne in the south. Lenton is 9.5 miles south east of Grantham and is a steady 15-20 minute drive from there.

The site of the Church is less than a mile from the Roman Road called King Street and a small Roman statue that was discovered in nearby Keisby was for some years displayed in the church. A bronze-age funerary urn was also found here in the late 19th century.
