Started with a routine upgrade to the s treet. Website. Gary started talking to Mark about what it means to be OPEN. It was decided that instead of just patching bugs and giving the community an update to the aging codebase it was time for something new. Not new code, a new platform. A couple of years ago being OPEN Source was good enough. We were able to share our work with colleagues and leverage the work of the community to bring projects like s treet. But how OPEN is that?

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO GET INVOLVED. Will be out of BETA soon. Don't let that silly little word should discourage you from building your own site. We have a few bugs to squash but in earnest we are done. Once we reach critical mass we will even allow site to go public with peer approval. If you know a guy by the name of Matz and aren't afraid of TextMate we can use help on our projects. We are hard at work on s treet. And other platforms so there are lots of ways to lend a hand. When the contest starts.
