Abnormally normal | Ramblings of a Beggar
https://nathaninafrica.wordpress.com/2010/09/13/abnormally-normal
Ramblings of a Beggar. September 13, 2010. So we’ve finally had some time to settle in. The first couple days went by so fast and we had so much going on that it was a little difficult to get my bearings. It slowed down a little this weekend, and I’m starting to get settled in. I actually know where a couple of things are and how to get to them which is always good. Tomorrow we get to take a tour of the city, and hopefully continue to get more acquainted with the area. Im encouraged. very encouraged.

Bus ride | Ramblings of a Beggar
https://nathaninafrica.wordpress.com/2010/09/25/bus-ride
Ramblings of a Beggar. September 25, 2010. A couple of days ago I took a bus out to visit a friend I had met earlier. He lived on the outskirts of the city. Let me just start by saying that buses here are nothing like in the united states. I would venture to say that they are not like any other buses anywhere. Laquo; Abnormally normal. Everyone should see this | Ramblings of a Beggar
https://nathaninafrica.wordpress.com/2010/11/18/everyone-should-see-this
Ramblings of a Beggar. November 18, 2010. Everyone should see this. WARNING: the picture at the end of this post may be disgusting or troubling to you. So this week is a big holiday here, where everyone buys a sheep and kills it. A friend of mine invited me to spend a couple days with him during the holiday, and I did. In the process I got to see 4 sheep get killed and skinned. Such an amazing visual of CJ’s sacrifice. I think it’s kinda cool that it ended up looking like the sheep was crying blood.

Ramblings of a Beggar. August 3, 2010. The Beginning of the End. This is, hopefully, my last month in the United States for at least a year, hopefully a little longer. This summer is the most I’ve grown since my first summer during college. I’ve learned a lot about myself and a lot about God. Two things I want to focus on are holding on and letting go. I’ve recently lost sight of how incredible my life is. July 18, 2010. Each day as we travel to our language class, our route takes us down a street lined ...

https://nathaninafrica.wordpress.com/2010/09/10/here
Ramblings of a Beggar. September 10, 2010. So, I’m not a very good blogger. I’m extremely inconsistent. I do feel like not much has been going on until recently, so that is one reason why I haven’t written. I can’t believe I’m actually HERE! 8221; this was one of them. One of the other times was right after we got off the plane. That’s all I got for now. I am so excited to read this. I am also jealous. oh so jealous. On September 10, 2010. Ramblings of a Beggar. November 8, 2010. So I’ve been in country for tow months now! Sometimes it is hard to believe that it’s been that long. I try to think about where all the time has gone, and I’ve done a lot, but it doesn’t always feel like I’ve done a lot. Next week is a big holiday here, and I’m really excited. I’ll be splitting the holiday between two of my friend’s house who both invited me to celebrate it with them. It will be a great opportunity to participate in some...I love my job. You are ...

Chitown | Ramblings of a Beggar
https://nathaninafrica.wordpress.com/2010/08/25/chitown
Ramblings of a Beggar. August 25, 2010. This past week I got to spend time with most of my team in Chicago for training for the next year. I think it would be easy to be worried about a lot of things for this next year. Safety? Learning a new language and culture? For me, my biggest concern was my team. Would we get along? Would we be able to be effective in ministry together? What if, once again, I feel like an outsider in the group? Well, in Chicago all these questions were answered. You are commenting...

How to heal a broken heart | Ramblings of a Beggar
https://nathaninafrica.wordpress.com/2013/08/01/how-to-heal-a-broken-heart
Ramblings of a Beggar. August 1, 2013. How to heal a broken heart. It’s been a long time, and I hadn’t thought about coming back until reading a friend of mine’s blog. Reading her thoughts reminded me of how much doing this helped me to process things and express myself. My life is nothing like I thought it would be a year ago. Well, that’s not entirely true. I guess just what was the biggest part of my life had ended. Or so I thought. It’s the love of my life part I was wrong about. You are commenting u...
