Posting some sights and sounds from my Memorial Day weekend taking in Delfest 2011. At the Allegany County Fairgrounds in Cumberland, MD. It's a bluegrass festival hosted by Del McCoury. Stuck in the Big Ring. Lead up to the Fondo (training 5/24-6/25/10). Run 45mins, 5.8-6mi, 70s. muggy again. Bike QR trainer steady-easy. Frolic, 70’s sticky, sunny. 85-90f, humid, sunny, drank lots, refilled twice, unwittingly riding with semi-flat rear tire for first couple hrs! Run 44mins, 5.8mi, muggy, gray, 70. 20min trans to bike. Outdr shortish Seneca loop, 80F sunny, light wind not too humid, nice. Best long ride ever. Ate well last night, munched till. Or so, got 6-7hrs sleep. 15 min trans to Bike.

The running bug has got me. I've entered the 21st edition of the North Central Trail Marathon. Nov 27th, 9am, just north of Baltimore (race day driveable! It's a flat out and back route. Ireland trip a few years ago. Half marathon in the park, also a few years ago. You want current stuff? I had a chance to volunteer for race support at the Achieve Kids Tri. Summer camp race day event. Some amazing young athletes. I served as a lap counter and personal race assistant for one racer.

She'd been having an increasingly hard time getting around, and it got to the point where she could no longer stand up because her back legs were just too weak. True to her nature, she never complained and was calm and collected right to the end. I can't same the same for us, but we all had a chance to say good bye - which meant a lot. I just couldn't get my head in the game today. I started the morning being late to two different meetings and then could just not get started. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. 2 months for Summer, working on the motorcycle, and dry forecast. Summer is now 2 months old. She hasn't giggled yet, but loves to smile once she has a full belly or just waking up in the morning. We go into the doctor next week for her vaccines and get her 2 month check-up. Her neck muscles are getting stronger and stronger and her head is on a swivel the last couple days trying to look around at everything. A few showers earlier in the week gave us some fantastic rainbows!
