Vivien Zepf: New Work - A Circle Study
http://sevenpinesdesigns.blogspot.com/2015/07/new-work-circle-study.html
Monday, July 27, 2015. New Work - A Circle Study. I'm playing with the organic circle idea that made its first appearance in Champagne Dance. Formerly titled Champagne Circles. Here's an 11.5" x 11.5" study. The orange strip is made of bits and pieces left over from Champagne Dance. I'm debating if I should call this Circle Study I. My son's suggestion is Cosmic Sunset. What do you think? I like your sons suggestion. Or use both of them, Circle Study! July 28, 2015 at 9:29 AM. New York, United States.

Vivien Zepf: Social Media
http://sevenpinesdesigns.blogspot.com/2015/07/social-media.html
Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Photo I posted recently on Instagram and Facebook. There are so many different ways to connect on the Internet that it's easy to get sucked into cyber space, trolling different sites. By the same token, it's hard to decide what to focus on and where to spend your time if you're using the net to keep an artistic presence. See my FB and Instagram posts and, therefore, don't want to see duplicates on my blog. Don't have a preference. What about blog content? I thoroughly enjoy readin...

Sunday, August 2, 2015. Social Media - And the Answer is. First, my apologies: it seems I might have given a few of you the impression in my social media post that I was contemplating ending my blog. I'm sorry! I love writing my blog and will continue with it as long as I can. Thank you for sharing that you enjoy reading it. 2" long cicada hawk wasp (also know as a cicada killer). These. Fascinating burrowing wasps dig nests in my yard and garden, dragging. Try to juggle them or something. Would you like...

The Big Idea: April 2009
http://quiltthebigidea.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
A group blog for Design Camp quilters. Sunday, April 26, 2009. Details- finishing the edge. For a sense of scale: ach of the individual squares are 1-5/8 x 2"; this method would only be appropriate for a small quilt, one that wasn't going to be handled very much. Back side below. About the quilting: Top one is hand-quilted, bottom is machine quilted with invisible thread on the front. I've decided instead to do hand-tying at the corners. Sunday, April 5, 2009. The Big Idea: June 2008
http://quiltthebigidea.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
A group blog for Design Camp quilters. Sunday, June 22, 2008. Here's my pastel project: each of these is a 9x12 piece of pastel paper, so the whole thing is 60x45". The idea is one I've been thinking of for a quilt for a while- midwestern landscape in late winter/early spring. Next I tried doing monotype prints. My intent was to get more "fabric" for stones, but the results were interesting enough to me in themselves that I haven't cut them up. These are each about 14x17". Thursday, June 19, 2008. Well, ...

The Big Idea: January 2009
http://quiltthebigidea.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
A group blog for Design Camp quilters. Friday, January 9, 2009. Overcoming reluctance/fear to work on "big idea" projects. 2) Using a white 5x8 card marked with daily blocks for a month, I wrote down for Tuesday two things I wanted to work on that morning. And then I did them! Writing down the intention. Limiting the number of projects to work on in any one chunk of time. Deciding on a daily basis, not trying to make a plan for a week or more. With this in place, here's what I've worked on this week:.

The Big Idea: Retreat 2010
http://quiltthebigidea.blogspot.com/2010/02/retreat-2010.html
A group blog for Design Camp quilters. Sunday, February 28, 2010. I didn't think to take photos until Saturday night, so I missed the gorgeous blocks Amy was working on, but here are the rest of us who gathered at the Loretto Center recently. Here's Gini, with some of her great silks:. Janis did work on a quilt begun at another workshop. The center is going to be re-drafted:. Mary Beth is relaxing with a lot of "teeny 'tinis." Imagine stems for martini glasses below each row:. A great time was had by all!
