August 8, 2011. Makes one 9-inch pie or one 11-inch tart. It’s a veritable brown rice syrup massacre. Your cats move out, no one will speak to you (after all, there’s agar agar in your hair). It’s just you and this crumbled oozy mess of pecans in what must be a pie plate. But wait, it doesn’t have to be that way! In the picture we have the pecan pie in an 11 inch tart pan, but it works just as well in a pie plate! So try it either way…this is the pecan pie that won’t let you down. 1/2 cup brown sugar.

Without a whole bunch of editing of my thoughts or words, I approached with a forced smile and said "Does anyone else see the irony in the fact that you guys are serving dead animals to people to raise money to save animals? This is so simple and leaves no thinking in the morning because you make it the night before. 2 cups rolled oats (not instant or quick cooking). 2 cups unsweetened soymilk,coconut milk or almond milk. 1 teaspoon lemon or orange zest. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/4 cup chopped pecans, walnuts or almonds. Fresh fruit- bananas, peaches, blueberries, strawberries. 2 tablespoons agave nectar (optional). Combine oats, non-dairy milk, zest and vanilla in a bowl, cover and refrigerate overnight. The next morning, scoop oatmeal into bowls and top with pecans, peaches and a drizzle of agave nectar.
