On happy ground: This week's dress-ups

http://sueandcraig.blogspot.com/2011/10/this-weeks-dress-ups.html

Someone couldn't work out how to put his daffodil on! This is better - and now we can't see his undies. Simon and friends dressed for the game. And their camper dressed for the tour. October 25, 2011 at 12:30 PM. Great photos. You look like you had a good time and met some very interesting people. Guess it is clean up time now and youll be off again. October 27, 2011 at 2:34 AM. Thanks for putting up with us and always finding us a space! Robbie Regan and the Daffodils. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

On happy ground: February 2012

http://sueandcraig.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

We've been for some lovely walks in the last few days. The longest was the Kawakawa Bay. Walk from Kinloch, four hours return. Fairly easy walking, although we didn't wear our boots, so felt the distance more than we should have. Started mid-afternoon, so it wasn't too hot - but the cicadas were still outrageously loud. Beautiful views and lovely bush. Glad we had the walking poles, should have worn our boots as well. Kawakawa Bay from the highest point on the track. Better prepared - boots AND sunblock.

On happy ground: Determined old bird

http://sueandcraig.blogspot.com/2012/02/determined-old-bird.html

We had a lovely visit from Mum and Aunty Rob last week. At 78, you'd think Mum would be happy with gentle strolls on the beach. But there are better views to be seen if you go a little higher. So up the hill she climbed, using Craig's walking poles - of course now she has got some for herself. When I grow up, I want to be like my Mum. She may not have made it all the way to the top, but it's a mighty big hill. With her beloved Poor Knights Islands in the background. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Nice of you to drop in and see us at Te Puru Holiday Park today. Of course I'm happy to give you a map and directions to the Top 10 Holiday Park at Hot Water Beach. Yeah, yeah, while you're here, feel free to let your kids play in our playground for 20 minutes or so. Oh sure, you may as well use the toilets while you're here. After all, we're not trying to run a business. July 25, 2012 at 3:36 PM. You must be so tempted to say something to them - what a cheek! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Smaller Sue: August 2011

http://smallersue.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

No-one said it would be easy - but at least it can be fun! Tuesday, August 30, 2011. My first official 5km race. What a beautiful setting for an event. The North Shore Marathon bills themselves as the most scenic marathon and half marathon in NZ, and I don't think they'd be far wrong. We stayed at the campground just a few minutes walk away, and this was the view from the bus door:. The view from Takapuna to Rangitoto Island. 6km to finish: 2.43. I have written a long email to the organisers, now that I'...

Smaller Sue: And now wanting more...

http://smallersue.blogspot.com/2011/08/and-now-wanting-more.html

No-one said it would be easy - but at least it can be fun! Thursday, August 18, 2011. And now wanting more. I've finished my 8 weeks of training with Up&Running and ran my 5km on Monday. This is the longest distance I've ever run at one time. My time was: 35 minutes and 31 seconds. Very pleased with that! And in a move that has surprised even me, I've now signed up to do Up&Running's 10km course in September! Way to go Sue! Gonna miss the boards now it is over! Well be doing the 10k course together!

Smaller Sue: Feeling the difference

http://smallersue.blogspot.com/2011/07/feeling-difference.html

No-one said it would be easy - but at least it can be fun! Wednesday, July 20, 2011. Four weeks into the new plan for exercise and healthier eating and I can really feel the benefits. I repeated the fitness test on Monday and can see an improvement in all areas - weight down, stamina increased, and a. Improvement in my 1km time. In fact, I'm a bit worried about ever being able to hit that time again! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Read about our travels. 19 September 2012* It was hard to decide whet...

Smaller Sue: October 2007

http://smallersue.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html

No-one said it would be easy - but at least it can be fun! Sunday, October 14, 2007. Bit of a ride! Sunday being a day of rest, we thought we'd go for a quiet ride. The Tour of Waikanae is based on a 25km loop - you can do it 1, 2, 3 or 4 times. It's a lovely ride, without too much hill work, but once again we got nailed by the wind. This was Craig's first event, and the first time either of us has ridden over 20km. Our first aim was to finish, and we did it dead-on our target time of 2:30. I've never be...

No-one said it would be easy - but at least it can be fun! Monday, June 27, 2011. Think I'd rather be motivated by this photo - my first triathlon. Links to this post. Sunday, June 26, 2011. End of week 1. I've had a good week. Not everything went to plan, but I adapted and feel like I've put in a good effort. I've completed all three Up and Running. I've just made a point of reading my motivations again - and must remember to do this frequently. Links to this post. Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Sunday is pl...

http://smallersue.blogspot.com/2011/07/such-slackness-in-posting.html

No-one said it would be easy - but at least it can be fun! Wednesday, July 06, 2011. Such slackness in posting! Goodness, how time just slips away when you've nothing to do! Exercise has been going well. The Up and Running course is very well thought out and there is lots of on-line support - which I'm finding incredibly motivating. There is lots of work on developing the right attitude to running, and I've already run further than I have in over two years. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Wall sit: 1...

http://smallersue.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

No-one said it would be easy - but at least it can be fun! Wednesday, October 22, 2008. Kathryn made a comment on my last post about how frustrating it is to lose and gain the same kilo over and over. I’ve been carrying this disturbing image of a rotating kilo ever since. So, where does the bloody thing go? I know when I gain that kilo, it likes to wrap itself comfortably around my hips to create that unsightly muffin top. But what about when I lose it? No-one said it would be easy - but at least it can be fun! Monday, June 27, 2011. Think I'd rather be motivated by this photo - my first triathlon. I remember that photo well and also the hard work and training you put in. Your blog is full of many motivational moments like this. Ive re-read a few of your posts for inspiration and I have no doubt youll achieve again this time. Better go before this turns out to be a blog post. Catch you next time. As you will again. x. Smaller Sue: 1 hour 3 minutes 5 seconds

http://smallersue.blogspot.com/2006/02/1-hour-3-minutes-5-seconds.html

No-one said it would be easy - but at least it can be fun! Sunday, February 12, 2006. 1 hour 3 minutes 5 seconds. Well, the weather didn't improve. It was too rough to do a proper swim, so we did about a 100m run in thigh-deep water. Cold, very cold. Then 500m along the beach (I ran most of this), up a steep hill (I didn't run) then 1.2km to the bike transition (ran the whole thing). Now the really surprising bit - I had a lot of fun doing this. The weather was vile and the ride was hard work at time...

Sue and Damen

And little Fergie too! Sunday, July 19, 2009. For Damen's 11th birthday party all he wanted to do was have a family BBQ. Almost all of us were in attendance, except our Arizona slackers! You guys were missed. Bas made the birthday cake just the way that Damen wanted. It was HUGE and perfect. Ryan and Jim came over to join in the festivities. Everyone had a great time eating and playing games! I cannot believe my baby is 11. The past year has flown by. I'm excited for the years to come. Damen and I :).
