Sufferfest: Derby City Cup 2013

http://sufferfest.blogspot.com/2013/11/derby-city-cup-2013.html

A cyclocross racing blog. Sunday, November 17, 2013. Derby City Cup 2013. One of the main things that pushed me into racing cross this year was going to the WC's up in Louisville and seeing #SVENNESS. It was an incredible experience so when a race weekend on the same course popped up I knew I had to go do it (even before I actually owned a cross bike or even knew the first thing about cross). We hung out and watched the other races then the Pro's drank beer and had a good time. Very fun day despite t...

Sufferfest: TNSF

http://sufferfest.blogspot.com/2010/05/tnsf.html

A cyclocross racing blog. Thursday, May 6, 2010. Was a good one. We had 20 riders and did the first 30' at 25.1 mph, the next 30' at 26.2 mph. The 35 miles was done in 90min. Fast! I told someone that I would have attacked more but that's a little hard to do when we're hammering at 28mph. The sprints were hard with the one at Cabin Creek rd especially brutal with lots of attacks starting at a few miles to go then JC killing it at the end. Thanks for everyone who came out and let's do it again next week.

Sufferfest: 2014 Hellhole day 1

http://sufferfest.blogspot.com/2014/09/2014-hellhole-day-1.html

A cyclocross racing blog. Saturday, September 20, 2014. 2014 Hellhole day 1. I had no idea what to expect from this race. 75 miles, nearly all off road and lots of rain this last week. I knew it would be fast since there are zero hills in Francis Marion park but I had never done anything like this. When we lined up they sent everyone at one time (40-50 riders? This first part of this race was super fun. Once I did stop man did the pain kick in. Sitting on the bike was excruciating and standing caused...

Ride The Wind: March 2011

http://wolfpackcycles.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Riding with discipline and patience will result in success! Upcoming Bicycle Rides for 2012. Monday, March 14, 2011. My real ride won't start until mile 76. Then, it's 20 miles to the top of Mt Mitchell. Oh boy. I can do it.Start Slow to Finish Fast. Control the desire to hammer with everyone else from Spartanburg to Marion. Find a good rider that can help me get to Bill's Hill (about 45mi) and I can get the other 35mi in without burning too many matches. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Are You Following Me?

Riding with discipline and patience will result in success! Upcoming Bicycle Rides for 2012. Sunday, May 15, 2011. The Little Train That Could. I had to take care of some family things in Valdese yesterday and upon finishing, I drove on up to Marion. I had hoped to leave my car at the campground and to have Hank come get me and then I stay in Greenville overnight. That just didn't work out - I ended up staying in Marion. Sunday, May 8, 2011. It will be epic, one way or another. I can't. I have to hav...

Ride The Wind: Feeling Better..

http://wolfpackcycles.blogspot.com/2012/01/feeling-better.html

Riding with discipline and patience will result in success! Upcoming Bicycle Rides for 2012. Sunday, January 22, 2012. MehI didn't ride at all last week. :(. 1) I think I had the beginnings of an ingrown hair in my arm pit and I shaved and it became grossly infected. Talk about a huge bump and extremely painful! 2) I moved my Dad back to Greenville, SC on Monday (1/16) and was down there until Wednesday of last week. But, I did put in my Tough Love Spinervals dvd before lunch today and managed to stick w...

Three to go, three to go - I feel like it’s the countdown on laps at a criterium right now. Suffer, fools | As if you had any choice

As if you had any choice. Torture, part 2.5. May 4, 2009 in Uncategorized. I just found this. Column by Daniel Froomkin that quite eloquently makes many of the points I made in my last post, and simultaneously demolishes his colleague, the inimitably sour Krauthammer. (Please, someone tell me that’s a stage name. I mean, does he not have a Nazi supervillain name? Ahem—I don’t mean to imply that the resemblance goes beyond the name, of course! Torture, part 2.
