Lizzi's Creations: Project Wedding: The Cakes
http://lizziscreations.blogspot.com/2013/08/project-wedding-cakes.html
Thursday, August 8, 2013. Project Wedding: The Cakes. I'm continuing my Project Wedding series with something every wedding must have - the cakes! Carla and David's rustic wedding was no exception. Carla knew she wanted a rustic looking cake. She found some very pretty examples on Pinterest. Carla also went with a cake topper from AprilHilerDesigns. On Etsy. It matched the vine wreaths really well. I thought the cakes turned out fabulous! Click below to see other projects from Carla and David's wedding.

Friday, August 16, 2013. Puppy Power: Yard Sale Makeover. I found this gem at a yard sale for 25 cents. I would have looked right over it until Mini-me said, "awww, look at the cute puppies, Mommy! I felt a little sentimental because my family had a sweet cocker spaniel when I was growing up. However, this tacky piece of art from the Cherokee Indian Reservation was not coming home with me.until a light bulb came on in my head and I had an idea for a makeover. Thanks for stopping by! Monday, July 15, 2013. Project Wedding: The Decor. Welcome back to my Project Wedding series where I've highlighted aspects of Carla and David's country, rustic wedding. Today I'm bringing you the decor, much of which we did ourselves. We also used tin cans with burlap, lace ribbon, and jute to hold baby's breath and roses. Floating candles in mason jars completed the centerpieces. I also made a few chalkboards for the occasion using the same technique I had for my faux chalkboard ar. Thanks for joining ...

Thursday, July 26, 2012. Ok, so this post is a little picture heavy but I am so proud of these swimsuits! And here is how they came out:. I absolutly love them! I got the top material on the clearance aisle at Joanne's (didn't want to spend too much in case this didn't work out! And the bottom material for $1 a yard at walmart last year (that is how long it took me to get up the nerve to try this). I worked out great! For the leg and waist holes on the bottoms I wrapped the elastic and sewed with the lar...

Monday, May 12, 2014. Maxi Dresses for Little Girls. Maxi dresses are a big trend right now and about a year ago I started see little girl maxi dresses on Etsy. I thought I would make a couple of chevron ones for a friend's little girls on their birthday. They turned out fantastic so I thought I would make my daughters each one to wear for church. I used McCall's Pattern M5838. I took the bodice from version C but the length from F minus the ruffle from C. Confused? Sunday, May 4, 2014. Chevron Crochet B...

My two cents worth on some things crafty. Sunday, 14 September 2014. Simple bookmarks - Pattern. It's been a while since my last post. Although that doesn't mean no crocheting has been happening! In fact, I've been quite busy crocheting some simple bookmarks as giveaways in the Gift Bags at my mom's annual Fashion Show. For those of you who don't know me personally, my mom teaches Sewing and Design and has established her brand, Silent Sewing Academy. There's a Pictorial below to help you :-). Join Colou...

a Piece of Kate's: DIY Olympic Shirt
http://apieceofkates.blogspot.com/2012/07/diy-olympic-shirt.html
Monday, July 23, 2012. I really liked this Old Navy. Shirt, but these things never fit me right. I decided to buy my own shirt, and knock it off! 1I used contact paper as a stencil. I had my husband help me draw the design. 2He also wanted to cut it.I was going to use scissors, but he grabbed the cutting board and the Xacto knife. 3It took both of us to stick it down, and to make sure it was evenly spaced. You don't really notice it. Mandy @ Sugar Bee Crafts. Now I need to make myself one!
