Anyway, I asked the man trailing behind his pet, “What is that thing? 8220;It’s a meerkat.”. I should have asked him a lot more questions after getting that response. But I was frightened so I just ran back home. June 28, 2008 at 5:47 pm. Leave a comment ». Or do they pass on the right to mimic auto traffic? June 26, 2008 at 8:14 pm. From Across the Atlantic. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Leave a comment ». I love the letter “x”. It is the most economical of all letters. It stands in for the sounds of four letters: ecks. It also stands in for cross or Christ: Peds-Xing; Xmas; and, my favorite, Xtina. And it can be used in sequence to mean a lot of different things:. X: don’t do it! Xx: Mexican beer/man chromosomes/20. Or if it really smells it stinxxx. Anyway, these are just a few suggestions I have for improving the English language. Don’t eve...You are...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. God Save the Village Green! My research is about big intellectuals (literally, in the case of G.K. Chesterton. Who have an interest in little nations, little shops, and Little England. Not to be confused with the sketch comedy show, Little Britain). As I was walking to the library today the most perfect song came on the shuffle that encapsulates their “Distributist” philosophy in song. The Kinks’ 1968 album. The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society. Instead ...

Confessions of a Keyhole. Sunday, July 01, 2007. Episode Like This, but the Culprits Were Evil, Not Crazy. Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine. Of course, as I told my personal rabbi. It's possible that we're all having this delusion all the time, except that the virtual world we're confusing for reality is just Second Life, so nothing bad really happens. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Leave a comment ». The famous Arbeit Mact Frei sign. Its surprisingly undersized. I had imagined both the sign and the main Auschwitz camp to be bigger than they are. Some barracks and the electrified barbed wire at Auschwitz. The only major qualm I have about the tour is that the guide and the text on the walls emphasized that Birkenau was the major death site (Birkenau is part of the Auschwitz complex-3km away from the main Auschwitz campus). Confessions of a Keyhole. Saturday, July 07, 2007. Semi-Demi-Hemi-Adulthood: Day 1.5. I forgot to bring underwear. Also, there's no toothpaste here, although I don't blame myself for that one. I just went to Duane Reade to buy the cheapest brand possible, which turns out to be Aim "Multi-Benefit" (cleans, freshens, protects (those are the benefits) ; as soon as I got back into the apartment, I nervously googled around to make sure there was no Chinese antifreeze. Lurking in my cut-rate tube.

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Leave a comment ». Yesterday I spent a few hours wandering around the Wawel Castle. (Pronunciation guide: in Polish, the “w” makes the sound of the “v” in English, so the castle is pronounced “Vaa-vel.) As the sign says, it is the supreme monument to the Polish nation. To control crowds, there are only a set number of tickets available to some parts of the Wawel complex during the day. I was one of the last twenty to get tickets to the state rooms.
