Plot 55: being family
http://plotfiftyfive.blogspot.com/2015/05/being-family.html
Friday, May 22, 2015. Our spring has been busy: finishing, celebrating, visiting, living. Between the Spring Concert for Calliope, the women's choir Eliza and I sing with, and a trip up to New Jersey for me, we thought we'd squeeze in two days seeing two aunts, two uncles, a grampa, a great aunt, my cousins and my mom (shoo! It could not have been a more peaceful place to gather. Two tauruses in a pod. This post is number one thousand. I am astounded. Thank you for being here! May 22, 2015 at 4:48 PM.

Plot 55: the nitty gritty on felting lanterns
http://plotfiftyfive.blogspot.com/2012/11/the-nitty-gritty-on-felting-lanterns.html
Friday, November 16, 2012. The nitty gritty on felting lanterns. I wrote about making lanterns with felted wool. A year ago, and as I am making some this year (as opposed to helping children make them) I thought I would give an update on the process, and see if I left any glaring holes in my non-instructions. (For the real deal, please see the archived Living Crafts magazine; I'm sure there are some stunning photos as well to encourage you as you wrangle your wool.). A spray bottle with cold water. A tow...

Plot 55: March 2015
http://plotfiftyfive.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 30, 2015. A date in another state. Yes, we did it again. Managed a full 24-plus hours alone together, by traveling four hours to Louisville, KY to see a play during the Actor's Theater's annual Humana Festival. Well, it kind of does. We dream of going to Louisville for a full weekend of the festival, which features new American works and incredible artistry. We saw the world premier of Charles Mee's Glory of the World. About local Kentuckian Thomas Merton. It began and ended in prolonge...

Plot 55: Life Learning
http://plotfiftyfive.blogspot.com/p/life-learning.html
I like to borrow a phrase from my friend Kimmy and say that we have a culture of learning in our home. This means we are open to learning about anything and everything, according to our interests, not according to someone else's plan for our learning. This means a lot of talking and asking questions and trying to take the time to follow those down rabbit holes in search of answers. Living Like It's Sunday. A post about writing. Learning out in the world. Stacy @ Sweet Sky. August 12, 2012 at 5:32 PM.

Plot 55: June 2015
http://plotfiftyfive.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 29, 2015. We have a teenager, and she is wonderful. She has the sparkle she was born with, and she is warm and curious. She wants to know you and what you are about and if you've met her once she will greet you with a hug the next time around as if you've known each other forever. She arrived early (I know - it was exactly on time, but I was new at the mama gig, and she was early! And has been ready for the next thing since that moment. Links to this post. I had forgotten what a different land new babyhood is. Henry David Thoreau, Walden. These days are all about the "broad margins". What else is there to do, really, than to watch expression move across this baby's face, like the play of sun and clouds? This baby is having some serious feelings of rightness. Links to this post. Plot 55: January 2015
http://plotfiftyfive.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 31, 2015. Transitions are so hard, aren't they? For as much promise of growth change holds, it is not always easy to roll with new plans or let go of disappointments. This is something I in particular am working on, as Dan could tell you. Links to this post. Labels: the daily do. Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Is there a typical day? I enjoy checking in at the Simple Homeschool. Or writing out the lines of verse we're all working on memorizing? Ani decided she wanted to paint at her desk ...

Plot 55: honey, you smell...
http://plotfiftyfive.blogspot.com/2014/11/honey-you-smell.html
Friday, November 7, 2014. Honey, you smell. After I had my babies, something happened to my smell. I mean, chemically, I really think something happened that changed the way I filled the air around me with scent. However, I didn't ever think it had gotten so bad that the people around me would notice. I remember commenting to Dan once, in exasperation, "Oh MAN, I smell like I just rode a bear across the country! It's almost too much to contemplate. Yes, this is my bathroom. Tom's or something similar.
