Living in the Country

Living in the Country. Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Garden - August 17, 2015. The garden is still doing its thing. And we still have more to harvest from there. The empty fence is where the pinto beans were growing. You can see we still have more beans to harvest. I planted a little bit of corn and it is making ears - maybe we will have a batch of corn to eat on before the snow flies. I pulled up my red pepper plants because they were not growing. I left the 3 green pepper plants and they are finally sh...

Living in the Country: More Soup

http://www.sunnyridgeblog.blogspot.com/2015/08/more-soup.html

Living in the Country. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. We did up the rest of the tomatoes yesterday afternoon. We had enough to make 10 qts of soup. I think we should have just done a regular batch of 8 quarts and done something else with the rest. We did not have a stock pot big enough for such a large batch and had to use a water bath canner pot to cook it in. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Living in the Country: Back to School

http://www.sunnyridgeblog.blogspot.com/2015/08/back-to-school.html

Living in the Country. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Yesterday was the first day back to school for Chloe. It is hard to believe that she is already in 4th grade. She told her Dad when he dropped her off at school that she had "jitterbugs" in her stomach. LOL - she meant butterflies. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Having lived in the area previously for 23 years, we have retired and are back. We are trying to be "loco-vores" and eat what we grow or what is grown within the area. Living in the Country.

Living in the Country: April 2015

http://www.sunnyridgeblog.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Living in the Country. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Once upon a time back in the days of teaching, my UniServ Director would tell me to "document" if I was having problems with an administrator. Then he could use that information when he went to talk to the administrator about the "problems". We get a prescription refilled every 5-6 weeks and it is for 340 pills. There have been times that when we get home, we do not have 340 pills. We know how full the bottle should be and it is not full. How many folks get...

Living in the Country: August 2015

http://www.sunnyridgeblog.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Living in the Country. Monday, August 31, 2015. I am unable to add any pictures to the blog. When I go to click on the picture icon to add/upload pictures, the screen freezes. Suffice it to say - we are busy with the dry beans in the garden. We have one variety left to pick. Then begins the shelling of all of them. Phew! My two tomato plants in the garden are doing well. I have a plastic grocery bag of tomatoes to do something with. I think I am going to freeze them. Sunday, August 23, 2015. I cut out th...

Emily Grows Up: October 2009

http://emilygrowsup.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, October 29, 2009. Ok so apparently Emily has decided that she really is much like her Uncle Preston and is going to go from only saying a word or two straight to sentences. :) She is already doing a lot of short sentences rather than single words (sometimes we still have to figure out exactly what she is trying to say - which is frustrating for her - but she is training us well.). Emily also LOVES to sing and dance and will specifically request her music on the drive to and from school :).

Emily Grows Up: June 2009

http://emilygrowsup.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Wow it's been a whirlwind the last couple of months - Let's see if I can do this in a whir -. Just in time for Liz to drop Em and I off at the rehersal dinner for our friend's Lia and Rob (I was going to be a bridesmaid and J an usher at their wedding on Saturday). And we all got home in time for a great afternoon nap! There are a few new pictures up and I have more I need to post at home but I need to find a quiet night to do it. :) Those are hard to come by these days.

Emily Grows Up: February 2010

http://emilygrowsup.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 12, 2010. Wonderful world of Birthday's. I'm sorry I haven't gotten more pictures posted from the birthdays - but they have been loads of fun! At Aria's party - Emily got to play 'jumping on the bed' with Abby, Aria and another friend - and they all got to ride in 'Papa' (Jenn's dad)'s train. A grand time was had by all! More updates to come! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Emily - Toddle Time. Wonderful world of Birthdays. Living in the Country. A Year of CrockPotting. The Family Tech Report.

http://emilygrowsup.blogspot.com/2010/03/one-more-mountain-video.html

Wednesday, March 24, 2010. One more mountain video. Here are the munchkins running laps on the deck Saturday morning - They ran back and forth at full tilt for probably 15-20 minutes. :). Emily Grows Up: Off to a raring start

http://emilygrowsup.blogspot.com/2010/03/off-to-raring-start.html

Sunday, March 7, 2010. Off to a raring start. 2010 Has been off to a roaring start! We have gone to the circus, been hiking twice, and dad's been back out in his kayak! We've had two significant snowfalls (enough to build a snowman - that's a lot for us! And Em has had a great time learning to sled and throw snowballs. :). Other fun points of note -. 1 - She can take off and put on her shoes and socks (sometimes she chooses not to). 3 - We are working on learning to hop. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Emily Grows Up: March 2009

http://emilygrowsup.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 25, 2009. It is definitely spring - with all the allergies that come along with it! Sunday she played a lot in the backyard while dad and I worked on doing some yard work. We also took her out in her wagon which I totally forgot to take some pictures of. oh well next time. Here is a bit of video of miss em from earlier this week - ignore the big green monster that shows up at the end of the video. As you will see - she is very active and vocal! Friday, March 20, 2009. This stuff is YUMMY.

Emily Grows Up: July 2009

http://emilygrowsup.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Monday, July 27, 2009. Oh yeah one more - Emily has learned how to climb around in the car/truck - so now she loves to climb up to the drivers seat and pretends she's driving. I did get some cute pictures of her doing it while we were learning to put the bike rack on the truck (it kept her safe and entertained) - but I haven't had a chance to upload them yet - so just keep checking :). 1 - Huge hugs against your leg for no reason (or because she did something and is proactively loving you up). Well, when...

Emily Grows Up: November 2009

http://emilygrowsup.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Monday, November 16, 2009. First - there are new pictures up in the Emily-Toddler Years. We had a great conference/vacation trip this past weekend to Orlando, FL. My annual work conference was down there so Jason and Emily came with me. It was a long trip down there and back (and for anyone who might be interested - there is NOTHING between Atlanta and Orlando). Emily was a wonderful traveler as usual :) And she had a great trip with LOTS of daddy time! Sunday, November 1, 2009. The munchkins who stayed ...

Emily Grows Up: 2nd Birthday Checkup

http://emilygrowsup.blogspot.com/2010/01/2nd-birthday-checkup.html

Tuesday, January 19, 2010. We had Em's second birthday check up today - And she is growing like a weed! She is 36 inches tall and 30 lbs (that explains why it felt like such a workout carrying her around Tallulah Gorge)! A few other fun updates:. She is talking up a storm these days (although sometimes you have to listen carefully to tell what she's talking about). We have ditched the paci - except for bed time. Dad and Gram's taught her to show that she is 2 years old by holding up two fingers.
