Be the Change

Sunday, March 27, 2011. Getting Back on Track. After a harried schedule that included some overseas travel, I am getting back on track. I have re-discovered that I need routine. Taking a break is very good for me, but resuming my routine proves difficult at times. What do you do to reel things back in when you get off course? S-L-E-E-P.whoever underestimates the power of a good night's sleep must be sleep deprived! This week I wish you all peace of mind and priority of focus. Make it a great one! PS Tune...

Be the Change: December 2010

http://surrenderingtochange.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Sunday, December 19, 2010. This Christmas season I wish for authenticity for people, for acceptance of one another, for truth and kindness and grace to be exchanged and for wonderful gatherings, treasured memories, warm laughter and big hugs. My hope is that no matter what your situation is, that you get to unwrap these things and that you share them with someone else on your list. May you and yours have a blessed Christmas! Andrea Frank, MS, LGPC. Sunday, December 12, 2010. I am quick to take note when ...

Be the Change: Loving what you do....

http://surrenderingtochange.blogspot.com/2011/02/loving-what-you-do.html

Sunday, February 20, 2011. Loving what you do. People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing. If you've ever shared a conversation with someone who loves what they do for a living, you just want to bottle their energy and enthusiasm! I felt that way when I met with Master Tom Fox, owner of Kent Island Martial Arts. He is infectious with his attitude about wanting to help people each day, is passionate about fitness and nutrition and enjoys each day as it unfolds. Make it a great week!

Be the Change: My Day with Dr. Lou Aymard

http://surrenderingtochange.blogspot.com/2011/02/my-day-with-dr-lou-aymard.html

Sunday, February 6, 2011. My Day with Dr. Lou Aymard. I was so blessed to have Dr. Lou Aymard join me for 'Frankly Speaking' as my guest on Friday. We shared a car ride to the radio station and chatted the whole way there! I have such appreciation for him and was thrilled to be able to share some time with him. He was so welcoming, assuring, and of course wanting me to come work at the Parenting Center! We also discussed the importance of spending time with our children in active play and being consisten...

Miss Vickie: Doll Dress

http://missvickie125.blogspot.com/2010/03/doll-dress.html

Saturday, March 27, 2010. Okay, I'll admit that I'm a sucker for making tiny things. My daughter has a friend that is really into American Girl dolls and her birthday is next week. I could have gone to the local store and buy her a toy but I tend to lean towards making something myself. As luck would have it, I have a pattern for 18" doll dresses. Of course I have lots of fabric stash too. I am really happy with the results. I hope she will be too. Its a nice day for a White Wedding Dress ;-). Getting Ba...

Miss Vickie: Martha Pullen Sewing Extravaganza

http://missvickie125.blogspot.com/2010/03/martha-pullen-sewing-extravaganza.html

Saturday, March 27, 2010. Martha Pullen Sewing Extravaganza. Last week I was fortunate enough to attend the Martha Pullen Sewing Extravaganza in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. It was a four day busy whirlwind of sewing and learning new lots of new things. We had three days of 1 day projects and finished up on Saturday with 3 mini projects. This event was sponsored by the Martha Pullen company and Stony Brook Sew and Vac. The last day, Saturday, was comprised of three 90 minute mini classes. The first proje...

Miss Vickie: January 2010

http://missvickie125.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 31, 2010. Now seems like the best time to start my blog. I am gearing up to launch my own line of christening gowns in the fall. One of the things I need is child sized dress forms. I have priced them and was just not ready to pay that much, considering that I want several sizes for working on gowns as well as for pictures for the website. A blessing came my way in the form of another blogger's tutorial on how to make one! Thank you so much, Sachiko! Links to this post.

Miss Vickie: June 2010

http://missvickie125.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Monday, June 21, 2010. The lessons in this project were about embroidery stabilizer and trying to find some balance in my work. My inspiration was spawned from a recent article in Sew Beautiful Magazine and what I learned at the Martha Pullen Extravaganza. I was stoked about the new techniques I learned and was determined to apply them on my own. With my new found knowledge, I felt like I had to push my work to another level. Part didn’t want to let go of the netting. Ugh! The proper combination was the ...

Miss Vickie: February 2010

http://missvickie125.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 13, 2010. And now for something completely different. Since my last post, I created another child’s size dress form for a 9 month old. I am slowly making some progress in that department. Fabric for my next christening gown is laundered and ready to go. Now I just need some time alone to concentrate on the next one. Although we were snowed in for a few days, I did make good use of my time clearing out some projects that were waiting in the wings for months. Whew! So, today was the day!

Surrendering My Heart

You won't relent until You have it all. My heart is Yours. Thursday, January 1, 2015. Reflections on the New Year. No matter where you find yourself on this spectrum, there is a common thread among us. We all look towards the future with hope and expectation whether it’s a respite from the storm or the fruition of blessings promised. As I scrolled through the images, well wishes, and reflections, I couldn’t help but to stop and think, “ Is God not great if you had a difficult year? He allowed me to strug...

Surrendering to Grace

Thursday, October 11, 2012. Being a Conduit for Source Energy. When I heard him say this it caught my attention because in my journey I have been very interested in clearing limiting patterns held within the subconscious mind. Who doesn't want to free of the baggage, right? It becomes an endless spiritual treadmill of seeking but seldom finding. This is one of the reasons why spirituality has become such a big business in this day and time, but we'll talk about that another time. Posted by Living by Grace.

Surrendering to Motherhood

Thursday, April 30, 2015. So in my healing, I have been learning to continue to let go. Let go of all kinds of stuff and ideas…to loosen up the reins more on my life, my husband, and my kids. To stop trying to control everything, because I can't anyway! Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Big topic. What does it even mean? When I am clear headed, I know. It is inner knowing. Where are we putting our energy? What are we focusing on? What are we prioritizing? So what is my next step? Monday, October 27, 2014.
