What’s In Our “Bug Out Bags”. October 22, 2008. In our family, we each have a backpack in the hall closet, at the ready to go if a time comes when we must evacuate our home in an emergency. Personally, I doubt we’ll ever need the bags since we live in a remote area that isn’t prone to natural disaster and is an unlikely target for attack. But, you never know, so we have our bug out bags waiting. 3 pouches, breakfast omelet (freeze dried, camping food). 1 paring knife, 1 each metal spoon, fork and knife.
