I began my Women ‘n Windows series in 2003 and it has taken me through many changes in my life and in my painting. I strive to depict different emotions and ideas about women for the viewer. Many of my paintings have embedded messages of compassion and hope not immediately discernible on the surface-but the underlying message is still there.

My collection includes wonderful collage materials that belonged to an artist who lived in Knoxville, Tennessee. When she died, I bought her stash from her daughter. I will hang on to some of those things just for her. She might be watching. The year 2013 will be the year I regain my self-discipline if I am not too busy stash-busting.
