Socks – monkey or otherwise! | Sooz Knits
https://soozknits.wordpress.com/2008/08/24/socks-monkey-or-otherwise
A knitting blog (plus some other crafty bits). I’ve moved… →. Socks – monkey or otherwise! August 24, 2008. I decided to knit some socks recently as a present for my sister. I bought two hand dyed skeins of wool from Violet Green ( http:/ www.violetgreen.co.uk/. As per usual I got bored after knitting the 1st sock in ‘red hot sox’ and was too impatient to knit another before starting with the ‘black rose’ colour. So my sister ended up with two very unmatching socks! This entry was posted in craft. Really...

Little House in the Big 'Burbs: June 2009
http://littlehouseinthebigburbs.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 28, 2009. Seeing the Code: Another Crazed Cookie Fan. So crazed was I about attending sock classes and a book signing with Cookie A.,. That I paid no heed to ensuring my youngest was a part of my fan pic. Sorry Colby. The venue, Renaissance Yarns. At Kent Station was awesome, loved sitting next to my fellow Ravelers Liz. The hand-outs Cookie created for both classes are very detailed and will be a valuable resource that I'll return to often. I used to prefer written instrucions for knit patt...

Stacie's Adventures With Needles: Pillow Shamming
http://staciesadventures.blogspot.com/2010/08/pillow-shamming.html
Stacie's Adventures With Needles. Made a pillow sham for my sister, who has requested two for their groovy new pad in Palm Springs (smaller than the campus college apartment my husband and I had eons ago), and though I'm going to get to the best fabrics in good time, I thought I should make the prototype and get familiar with the pattern, so that when i actually do sew the ones that really matter, I won't futz it. What besides my marriage do I ever do straight? Anyway, Pillow Sham #1 is complete! A Fasci...

http://staciesadventures.blogspot.com/2010_07_24_archive.html
Stacie's Adventures With Needles. Conquering Even the Simplest of Sewing Projects. Talk about ambivalence- when it comes to sewing I go back and forth between courageous and insecure. This time it was a project bag for knitting, that I'd seen in Bells' recent post. She linked back to the tutorial she'd used to make hers, so I printed out the instructions and gave it a go. And immediately created something rather wonky and off-kilter. I'd rather not be bad at measuring, but if it comes to something I can ...

Hats Tats 'N Lace: Duero, River Duero, no one comes down to greet you
http://hatstatsnlace.blogspot.com/2008/07/duero-river-duero-no-one-comes-down-to.html
Orlando, Florida, United States. View my complete profile. Thursday, July 24, 2008. Duero, River Duero, no one comes down to greet you. River Duero Fingerless Gloves. I used Tahki's classic cotton, but you can use anything that gives you a similar gauge. To fit for a wider wrist/hand, add stitches in groups of 4 to accomodate the pattern stitch. Gloves can be lengthened by working more repeats of pattern set before starting on thumb gusset. 1 skein of Tahki cotton classic (or like yarn) in Color A.
