Boiler Room Brewery: New brewing area
http://boilerroombrewery.blogspot.com/2012/02/new-brewing-area.html
Friday, 17 February 2012. The only problem is that the porch is pretty cold, so not ideal for fermenting (great for conditioning though! I'm planning on getting an immersible heater to keep the brews warm, but for now I'll probably still be keeping the fermenter in the dining room. The photo is crap because it's from my phone. Boiler Room Brewery: Brewing: Summer Lightning Clone
http://boilerroombrewery.blogspot.com/2012/03/brewing-summer-lightning-clone.html
Sunday, 4 March 2012. Brewing: Summer Lightning Clone. My overwhelming impression of the experience was how long it took to do. Several things lead to it taking much longer than I anticipated:. I don't have a hop filter fitted to the tap of the boiler, and couldn't find any hop bags, meaning that the tap got very clogged up with hop debris when I was running the wort out into the fermenter. This took absolutely ages, and I ended up having to blow up through the tap several times to clear it.

Boiler Room Brewery: February 2010
http://boilerroombrewery.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Monday, 22 February 2010. I know I should have put this in the barrel yesterday but the day ended up being too full with being hungover and playing boardgames (the crazy Tomb. Sunday, 14 February 2010. Just tested the mild and it's down to 1.014 from a start of 1.038 (I think). That's not bad but I think it's still got a ways to go (still tasting quite sweet). Will test it again Wednesday with an eye to putting it in a barrel next Sunday. Sunday, 7 February 2010. Update: Brewer's Choice Old Ale.

Boiler Room Brewery: January 2012
http://boilerroombrewery.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, 26 January 2012. This is starting to really frustrate me. I've tested it again and it hasn't dropped much at all ( like one point). I've given it another good rousing with a spoon and put it in front of the radiator to hopefully get it going again. If this doesn't work, I'm a bit stuck with what to do. Any ideas? http://boilerroombrewery.blogspot.com/2012/03/testing-summer-lightning-clone_11.html
Sunday, 11 March 2012. Testing: Summer Lightning clone. I tested this today on day 7ish of fermentation. It's down to 1.012, which is very good progress. I reckon it will be ready to go in the kegs sometime this week. I want it to be ready for my birthday party on March 24th so need to get it into the kegs asap so it can start conditioning a little. All in all, I'm a happy brewer! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Kegging: Summer Lightning clone. Testing: Summer Lightning clone. The Home Brew Shop.

Friday, 22 January 2010. So I had to go into hospital on Monday to have my appendix (it was gangrenous, yuk! Out and am currently convalescing at my parents' home. This means that Brewery japes will have to be put on hold for awhile as I don't know when I will recover the ability to do all the lifting of water filled containers required. Wednesday, 13 January 2010. That would be awesome! Tuesday, 12 January 2010. Do you enjoy reading about the exploits of that crazy guy at the Boiler Room Brewery? I'm go...

Boiler Room Brewery: Kegging: Summer Lightning clone
http://boilerroombrewery.blogspot.com/2012/03/kegging-summer-lightning-clone.html
Sunday, 18 March 2012. Kegging: Summer Lightning clone. I tested this brew a few times through the week and it was consistently sitting at 1.008, meaning that the beer is at about 3.5% abv -exactly what I was aiming for. So I've put it into the kegs today. I haven't freed up enough of the bottom tap mini-kegs yet, so I used some of the top tap ones that need the gas-fed tap. I used a bottling bucket with a little bottler. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Kegging: Summer Lightning clone.
