Thursday, August 13, 2015. Jackson Paragliding Part 2. My second day of paragliding went better - we got in two flights and both my launches and landings were reasonable. I was all ready to write a much more positive blog post. But the third day wasn't quite so good. Grand Teton from the top of the tram. I can see why a lot of people stop tackling new things as they get older. Especially physical skills, which I think are like languages - a lot easier to learn when you're younger. Sunday, August 02, 2015. Had a good 20 km run this morning. My longest so far this summer. It was a beautiful sunny morning for it. I'm always more motivated when the sun is shining! And it was pleasantly cool, at least early on. At one point there was balding grey haired somewhat rounded man running ahead of me. He looked like he was moving very slowly, but it seemed to take forever to pass him. Either he was moving faster than he looked (my preferred interpretation! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The flowering trees are coming to an end, with most of their petals now lying thick on the ground (along with all the seeds from the trees) so these are probably the last of the blossom photos from this year. Monday, June 29, 2015. We ended up paragliding at four different sites around BC - the two near Vernon. Mt MacKenzie at Revelstoke (thanks to Brad at Revelstoke Paragliding. And Mt. 7 at Golden (thanks to Scott at Altitude Adventures. The launch at Revelstoke is from the top of the ski hill. Which has the highest vertical in North America - 1,713m (5,620 ft). It was on the underside of a horizontal web built in a corner of the pond at Innovation Place. And this one was nearby, also on the underside but of a much small web. Thursday, September 6, 2012. 1974 Oldsmobile Omega S Update. Well after discussion with Dad we have decided to keep the 1974 Oldsmobile Omega S just that. It is so close to a Nova being an xbody clone, but I really didn't realize how RARE an Omega S was. Dad seems to really be liking the fact that it looks like the old Nova but it is an Omega which makes it something you just don't see. Let alone the fact that it is the 'S' (sport) version. Replaced Holley Carb 83310 gaskets. Cleaned up the Crager rims.
