The ramblings of a Sutton United supporter. Thursday, 31 March 2011. Sutton United blog: Asamoah Gyan, Paul Dipre and Sutton v Essex. It’s official: I am losing touch with football’s higher echelons. I momentarily switched channels during the second half of England's game with Ghana. When I turned back to ITV1 Clive Tyldesley was going on about a chap wearing an England shirt called Matt Jarvis. I must confess, I’d never heard of him (and neither had the interviewer in this clip. In fact, life is so good...

The ramblings of a Sutton United supporter. Wednesday, 25 April 2012. Sutton United blog: Kevin Scriven, Rick Wakeman and Evel Knievel. I hadn't allowed myself the luxury of even considering watching my beloved Amber and Chocolates in the Blue Square South play-offs until last Saturday's match at Salisbury was over. As that wise old sage Bornatotter said on the fans' forum: 'It's better to limp into the play-offs than limp out of them.'. Kevin Scriven, the Sutton goalkeeper, is my hero. I love the guy.

The ramblings of a Sutton United supporter. Friday, 15 April 2011. Sutton United blog: Ian Rush, Becher's Brook and Craig Dundas. I arrived at a sun-drenched Gander Green Lane last Saturday something of a nervous wreck, and with good reason. With the finishing line in sight, Bury Town represented as big a hurdle to Sutton United’s championship bid as Becher’s Brook. Did to Ballabriggs’ hopes of winning the Grand National. Those early memories of footballing rejection have a lot to answer for. I felt I co...
