The Rockford Zouaves would become Company D of the 11th Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment. Garrett L. Nevius would one day have the Rockford Grand Army of the Republic Post named after him. Ste Genevieve Missouri Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Camp # 326 is named after Lt. Col. J. Felix St. James of the 13th Missouri Infantry. He was mortally wounded on 6 April 1862 at the Battle of Shiloh in Tennessee and died on 8 April 1862 in the hospital in Savannah, TN and was buried in his home town of Ste.
