What do you brew? | Java Faith by Jan Powell

JavaFaith By Jan Powell. What do you brew? On Apr 7, 2015 in Blog. I confess that I’ve fallen in love with my pod-style coffee maker, a gift from friends several Christmases ago. My addiction to the convenience was immediate. Right away, I honed in on Vanilla Biscotti, which remains a favorite, although I’ve ventured into caramel and alternate vanillas. I maintain pods of regular coffee and have tried several brands there as well. Your email address will not be published. Required fields are marked *.

Sip or Gulp? | Java Faith by Jan Powell
http://www.javafaith.com/sip-or-gulp
JavaFaith By Jan Powell. On May 25, 2015 in Blog. How do you drink your coffee? More than the additives you may use, consider the quantity and pace with which you consume it. I tend to take my time to sip while I read or socialize, but my slow pace results in cold coffee. Recently I had dinner at a restaurant with a new friend who made an interesting request of the waiter. Could you just bring me a half cup of coffee? Some sip. Some gulp. What will you do today? Your email address will not be published.

JavaFaith By Jan Powell. A Cup of Rest. On Jun 8, 2015 in Blog. Have you learned to pace yourself? Some of us need a lot of time to get going each day, tired before we start with an unending list of things to do. Others, like me, practically hop up in the morning, ready to go. Either way, the day stretches ahead for all of us, with places to go and activities to do. Some responsibilities won’t go away. Family. Work. Church. And the list goes on. On the fast-paced road of life, we unco...Before we can liv...

My Favorite Cup | Java Faith by Jan Powell
http://www.javafaith.com/my-favorite-cup
JavaFaith By Jan Powell. On Jul 13, 2015 in Blog. I have a favorite cup for my coffee, a gift from a friend several years ago. The thin ceramic isn’t as delicate as fine china, and requires less careful handling, and it’s less clunky than diner mugs. My favorite shades of aqua and teal dominate the pattern. The size is perfect for eight ounces. If I begin with Him, my cup holds the right amount of activity, neither too much nor too little. Some goals will take part of a day, others weeks, and yet oth...

Do They Know You at the Coffee Shop? | Java Faith by Jan Powell
http://www.javafaith.com/do-they-know-you-at-the-coffee-shop
JavaFaith By Jan Powell. Do They Know You at the Coffee Shop? On May 11, 2015 in Blog. I have a dear friend who regularly gets coffee and sometimes a breakfast sandwich at the same place every workday morning. For many years she has purchased and given away little pass-along cards that have words of encouragement and blessing. Usually she writes a note on the back and, when she knows the name of the individual, she personalizes it. She’s an amazing example of finding a way not only to share the love of J...

JavaFaith By Jan Powell. A Cup of Commitments. On Jun 22, 2015 in Blog. What are you committed to do today? Every morning while having my coffee, I realize how much I need to accomplish. I don’t remember a time since college that I didn’t have more than enough to do. As a result, I’m a list maker. I like lists, have learned to rely on them, and advocate the practice to others. Knowing my to-do list is always longer than the day, how do I prioritize? It’s all too much. When all else fails, read the direct...
