January 18, 2015. Cliche’, but they say that cruising is all about “working on your boat in exotic locations. Today that was proven true. After days of fending off tourists and charter boats in the BVI, we decided to have a down day. A day without an agenda. A day to give Second Star the love and attention she deserves. Wyatt decided to re-fold all of his clothes and straighten out his locker! He then decided Wes didn’t really have his heart in it and re-did Wes’ room! Ah, the little things!

Monday, April 6, 2015. We had a pretty low key Easter here at home. We started the day by having the kids hunt for their Easter baskets, just like my parents always had my sister and I do. Ours stuck a little to the paper, and the kids didn't even want to taste them, but we have plenty of years to perfect our technique! S/V Second Star | Piratical Misadventures
March 11, 2015. We outfitted Second Star with oversized anchors and lots of chain before we left. It is easier to sleep knowing you are less likely to drag in poor holding conditions or when the wind pipes up. Two nights ago, the wind piped UP! At this point I got everyone on deck…in life jackets…and we raised our anchor, making a hasty departure. I would much rather watch this game from the sidelines than be on the field, discretion being the better part of valor and all that. Den monkeys got no style!
