Flyfishing in the Northwest. Archive for July, 2008. Posted in Montana Fishing. On July 1, 2008 4 Comments. Once again we had the opportunity to float and fish the Smith River in Montana. What a wonderful trip this was! Great weather, decent fishing, outstanding scenery and marvelous company! Trip highlights, thoughts and excerpts from Brent’s floaters log:. Plenty of water to bring drift boats no new hieroglyphics were added to the canyon walls this year. If leaving the take-out at Eden Bridge with the ...

Chucking Line and Chasing Tail: November 2014
http://millsfly.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Chucking Line and Chasing Tail. Wednesday, November 26, 2014. You cant tell a 74 year old deer hunter to stop hunting by himself, but you can tell him that if he get's a deer to call you to drag it out. That's all it took to know that this particular Monday night would involve a hell of a lot of work. I was almost home when I got the call that OMR had a buck down. Within 10 minutes, Big C was scooped up with an on-the-go dinner and we were headed northward to help with venison retrieval. We were almost a...

Sharing the passion of FLY FISHING. . . . . Monday, September 8, 2014. When Your Fly Fishing Gear Stinks, Life is Good. If I knew I was going to die tomorrow, I wouldn't be upset if my house was a mess. I am not neat. I'm only going to live once and my priorities are in order! I ended up with 2 in the net and lost 2 more....

Sharing the passion of FLY FISHING. . . . . Friday, March 27, 2015. A Good, Long Weekend in NE Iowa and the Twin Cities (3/20-22/15). However, this little stream still continues to tug at my heart. I did fish Coldwater Creek for a very short time prior to heading to the TC. I was gifted with one par brown on what I was told was a slow fishing day. My trip to the Twin Cities would have been a huge disappointment if I had not visited Pho Tau Bay in St. Paul! I also visited an outdoor store in Minneapolis a...
