Teaching an Old Dog New Tricks: April 2008
http://ktieche1961.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Kenneth Branagh vs Mary Shelley. The question is how true to the version of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein was Kenneth Branagh's movie? I believe the basic plot was the same, but Kenneth Branagh took several liberties when he made the movie. The timeline was shortened by Branagh, but this was necessary to fit the story in a proper frame of time. Even though he altered some scenes, the message that Shelley was trying to point across to us was not altered. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Talking Mushrooms Make Sense: Kenneth Branagh vs Mary Shelley

Talking Mushrooms Make Sense. Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Kenneth Branagh vs Mary Shelley. The thing you have to remember with movies is that the more intense the scene, the better the movie sells. That is what filmmakers think about. Also, very few movies put humanity in a bad light, so the scene with Walton and the creature would be a complete anomaly if Walton didn't show sympathy. Collective Visions: "But Dave, Will I dream?"
http://imperialcommissar.blogspot.com/2008/04/but-dave-will-i-dream.html
Tuesday, April 22, 2008. But Dave, Will I dream? More often than not, we find ourselves looking at the nasty truth behind mankind's constant leaps and bounds scientifically. It is almost painful to consider that what was once fanciful myth is now hard science. We're learning how to grow new limbs, to literally build broken parts of the human body through genetic manipulation. Each of these offer stern warnings not to what might be done. but what is actually happening. September 5, 2009 at 9:44 PM. The Ve...

Collective Visions: For Macragge, For Guilliman, For the Emperor!

Saturday, April 26, 2008. For Macragge, For Guilliman, For the Emperor! That's the easiest way to describe it. Part of a game that I play seems to have a few new things in store for me in September, with a new rulebook for my particular army; which in any case is awesome. Captain Sicarius gets special rules, which is awesome. He's the hero of Medusa V, for the Emperor's sake! The standing issue is, however, that there is a new miniature for him.
