the beattys run rampant: Coromandel
http://beattytown.blogspot.com/2011/10/coromandel.html
The beattys run rampant. Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Our last day was an exciting one for me, because in reading my travel books there were three things that jumped out at me immediately - the first was the doing the Tongariro Crossing. Which we were able to do on Thanksgiving Day, and then the other two were saved for last. Good thing we crashed the night before, because we needed to get up bright and early to make it to Hot Water Beach. While the tide was still low. On the other side! Highways to make...

the beattys run rampant: Sunny Sunday
http://beattytown.blogspot.com/2011/01/sunny-sunday.html
The beattys run rampant. Thursday, January 20, 2011. Day 3: Paihia to Kaitaia. After walking around the little beach town of Paihia. We found this cozy little place to eat. Matty with his muesli, fresh fruit, and yogurt sweetened with honey. My bread, eggs, and yummy toppings. Taking the very popular ferry ride to Russell. Which is why Paihia is so popular. We're on a BOAT! A dreamy little town. Lazy Sunday. Sitting back and taking all the time in the world to just stare. Russell has NZ's oldest church.

the beattys run rampant: September 2011
http://beattytown.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
The beattys run rampant. Friday, September 30, 2011. Mommy daughter date best friends. And when I say amphitheater, I mean a natural red rock one - AMAZING! So it was outside in the oh-so-warm night air with the stars twinkling overhead in the middle of nowhere (Ivins, UT). Best friends - Bella and Brianne. The play that brought us here - The Little Mermaid. And then cascades over that! Bella and the glimmering bronze King Triton! Sunday, September 18, 2011. He even cleared the table! Which is not all th...

http://beattytown.blogspot.com/2011/01/rollin-with-oldies.html
The beattys run rampant. Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Rollin with the Oldies. Day 4: Ninety Mile Beach, then down to Rawene. Up early for breakfast at The Northerner. Again You want to know how good the breakfast was? It's all in the face. It was better than last night's dinner. It was just so eerie to have this place to ourselves. Our grand tour with Harrisons Cape Runner. It was us and them. Hold on grandma. Why oh why are we on a bus with a bunch of old people? Are tours really for the old? Lived up t...

the beattys run rampant: Living a dream
http://beattytown.blogspot.com/2011/01/living-dream.html
The beattys run rampant. Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Day 2: Orewa to Paihia. Our visit to New Zealand was one big road trip. We had the teeniest room (that's our car at the back left- our door's right next to it! So nice to wake up and open your door to the ocean. We found the cute little Pine Cafe right next door for breakfast. Matt was dying to run over to the beach and jump in. But by the time breakfast was served and eaten, the beach had gotten pretty popular so we decided to move on. He had made to...

the beattys run rampant: Oh me, Oh my
http://beattytown.blogspot.com/2011/10/oh-me-oh-my.html
The beattys run rampant. Thursday, October 20, 2011. Oh me, Oh my. This time of year is my absolute favorite. I love how it is just packed full of excitement, pure and simple ones. The fall colors, leaf piles, dressing up, baking goodies, roasting pumpkin seeds, carving pumpkins, the endless parties, and squeezing in as much outdoor time before it turns bitterly cold. It is full to the brim with real quality family time. Me, I guess. My kids love parties. Who else would I want to celebrate with? Who can ...

the beattys run rampant: The start
http://beattytown.blogspot.com/2011/01/start.html
The beattys run rampant. Tuesday, January 18, 2011. We drove all night to Grandma's house. The kids were so excited to start their vacation with family. Our last play session with the kids. Saying hello and goodbye to sisters in the same hug. And cousins. It was time to go. But at last - free flying. Phew. I have started it! No turning back now. I will start and finish blogging this trip if it's the last thing I do. Be forewarned - many more blogs a-comin. More NZ 2010 -. Day 2: Orewa to Paihia. Robert a...

the beattys run rampant: City of Sails
http://beattytown.blogspot.com/2011/01/city-of-sails.html
The beattys run rampant. Tuesday, January 18, 2011. Cashing in before we leave the airport. Let the crazy times roll. I have to say Matt did awesome. I would try so hard to be focused just in case Matt forgot he was to turn into the left lane and not the right. Funny thing is, every time he did it right I thought we were going to crash and die. And I wanted to yell out, WRONG LANE! Being that we only had money for the flights (although Matt won his ticket on Air New Zealand. The Earth From Above. I think...

the beattys run rampant: Wishing
http://beattytown.blogspot.com/2011/02/wishing.html
The beattys run rampant. Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Day 6: Hamilton to National Park. Take notes. If we could go back in time we would have rented a campervan instead of a car. It would have saved us a ton of trouble. But don't worry. This was the last time we had any problems with finding a room. We finally wised up and started calling from the great i-Sites. Meandering through a murky jungle. To the plunging breathtaking Bridal Veil Falls. We thought we took a shortcut on the map, from Raglan. But can'...

the beattys run rampant: Kia ora
http://beattytown.blogspot.com/2011/03/kia-ora.html
The beattys run rampant. Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Hello, or "g'day". Day 8: Taupo to Rotorua. Waking up to sunshine, birds chirping, the smell of flowers. Before leaving Taupo. We decided to tour it by bike. We were able to rent them for cheap right from our Rainbow Lodge. Yes - we had to wear the dorky helmets. Safety first. But none of things prepared us for the beauty of Taupo Lake. The biggest in the country. Riding just a small portion of the lake before we detoured to the city for some breakfast.
