I Trip Over Things. More often than i like to admit to. Friday, February 19, 2010. Insert Clever Title Here. Though sidetracked temporarily by the epic snowfall in the DC area, I have continued the running training program. I even dragged myself out of bed to run on Thursday before work. Week 3, day 2 tomorrow. Two bits of commercial-related commentary:. 1 Mazda is advertising some sort of car as "wicked fun." Go New England slang! Saturday, February 13, 2010. Observations of the trailing spouse: June 2009
http://trailingspouseobservations.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Observations of the trailing spouse. A resource of interesting sights and sounds from West Hartford and beyond. Tuesday, June 30, 2009. I never realized how much a simple color balance error could ruin the look of photographed food. Something must have gone wrong at the printing press, because the greens and blues seemed all out of whack in this recent grocery flyer:. Anyone up for some cold cuts? Mmmm, nothing says flavor like some blue salami. And the pale turkey is simply delicious! Feeling the need t...

I Trip Over Things: December 2009
http://itripoverthings.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
I Trip Over Things. More often than i like to admit to. Thursday, December 31, 2009. Hopes for the new year? All-in-all, a thoroughly low-key New Year's Eve. Never a holiday that I have enjoyed tons, today spent working, doing a few crosswords, watching Hitchcock movies on TCM, and winding sock yarn into balls (yes, really - I got a ball winder. For Christmas, though do not own a swift, at least not yet). Tuesday, December 29, 2009. The most memorable moment of my time in NH? Wednesday, December 23, 2009.

I Trip Over Things: October 2010
http://itripoverthings.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
I Trip Over Things. More often than i like to admit to. Friday, October 29, 2010. Not for me the dogma of the period. Preaching order and a sure conclusion. And no not for me the prissy. Formality or tight-lipped fence. Of the colon and as for the semi-. Colon call it what it is. A poser at the bar. Feigning liberation with one hand. Tightening the leash with the other. Oh give me the headlong run-on. Fragment dangling its feet. Over the edge give me the sly. Comma with its come-hither. Oh if I must.

I Trip Over Things. More often than i like to admit to. Sunday, September 5, 2010. The End of Summer. What questions do you ask (can you ask) to find out if the administration/supervision situation is good or nutty ahead of time? This is the next sort of thing to figure out. Now that I've had really good supervision, I would like to continue that. I've been spoiled, in a way. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Kate (Peace Corps Volunteer). Observations of the trailing spouse: Awesome local commercial makes no sense!
http://trailingspouseobservations.blogspot.com/2009/09/awesome-local-commercial-makes-no-sense.html
Observations of the trailing spouse. A resource of interesting sights and sounds from West Hartford and beyond. Thursday, September 3, 2009. Awesome local commercial makes no sense! There are lots of questions I'm left asking after watching this ad. First, why is the woman who has just broken her arm smiling and waving at the driver in the smashed vehicle? Why isn't she and her attorney trying to help him out of the twisted wreckage? And where did "cartoon lawyer" get his suit? That must be very. I am a ...

Observations of the trailing spouse: Bit by a dog
http://trailingspouseobservations.blogspot.com/2009/04/bit-by-dog.html
Observations of the trailing spouse. A resource of interesting sights and sounds from West Hartford and beyond. Friday, April 17, 2009. Bit by a dog. I was bit by a dog while out for a run this morning. . The woman walking the dog was both mortified and incredibly defensive in the immediate aftermath. She asked in her first breath as I scanned my body for damage. "You know, this isn't my dog," came in the second. This isn't my dog," she reiterated as I said I was fine. Well, the Prof just got back with a...

Observations of the trailing spouse: The mystery of Karl's voice
http://trailingspouseobservations.blogspot.com/2009/09/mystery-of-karls-voice.html
Observations of the trailing spouse. A resource of interesting sights and sounds from West Hartford and beyond. Wednesday, September 16, 2009. The mystery of Karl's voice. So there's this new commercial for Febreze that has been on TV lately. As one would expect, it's pretty bad: Mom comes into son's room, tells him it stinks, then "cleans" everything by spraying it with Febreze. Anyway, there's a lot to make fun of in this ad (for example, the fact that Karl, the son, is reallllllly. Yeah, that's probab...

Observations of the trailing spouse. A resource of interesting sights and sounds from West Hartford and beyond. Monday, September 7, 2009. The running encyclopedia . On Saturday, while out for a long walk, a car pulled up to the Professor while she was on Mountain Road. The person in the passenger's seat asked if she could help with directions. The Professor said, "Sure, where are you trying to go? Six Flags," the passenger replied, straight-faced. "Can you tell me how to get to Six Flags? But every once...
