A lovely inn, Sweet Woodruff is nestled in a beautiful park-like setting, surrounded by majestic 150 foot fir trees and forest foliage. A plant that prefers a habitat of deep, shady woods, Sweet Woodruff grows plentifully here – one of the few things our native deer, who often frequent our yard – don’t eat. And even though we are a short distance from Tacoma and Seattle, you will feel a real escape from city life. The accommodations at Sweet Woodruff are comfortable, spacious, and private.

We built our home and retired on Anderson Island 2004. Bill worked in Public service for Clackamas County, Oregon for over thirty years and served in the Army and Army reserves for over thirty years as well. Catherine worked for a large corporation for several years, and then a large non-profit organization. We love retirement, and never get bored! We have kayaked for about fifteen years and especially enjoy Puget Sound and the Gulf Islands of Canada.

Friday, August 14, 2015. On our new quest to become debt free, we have to streamline our vacation. Luckily my father in law has a house at the river we can borrow. And a boat! Our neighbors came down for the weekend. We fed the swans. We watched old men play air guitar at the local watering hole We went to shark tooth island and found lots of treasures.
