A walk on a beautiful day is a great distraction. People who know me have credited me with preparing well for the jump into psychology from journalism. Change, however, is not all that easy. I found I needed to stop being a writer for awhile. I read a book about denial. We become anxious, fearful, angry and we don't always recognize what is happening.
