Water Sources

Water wells and ponds. Are a critically important part of Tabitha’s work, as 99% of new families in the Savings Program don’t have access to clean water. A water well eliminates many waterborne illnesses, and allows families to earn income raising livestock and growing crops. Tabitha constructs four types of water sources:. Are constructed in or near villages and are used for household water supplies. Each water well typically supports five families, or approximately 40 people.

Is an initiative Tabitha added several years ago. Only one in five primary school children attend two or more years of school sometimes only three years in their lifetime. At the secondary level, it drops to one in 12. Schools throughout Cambodia are used to maximum capacity, with one group attending in the morning, and a second group in the afternoon. Are a primary income-earning opportunity for women and families working their way out of poverty. Tabitha trains and employs embroiderers, seamstresses, weavers, silversmiths and others who make products by hand. The goods are literally one of a kind - and not only beautiful, but durable too.
