Adapt and Overcome: October 2013
http://overcominginjury.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 17, 2013. Today I went on my first Ruck march in a long time. Marching with ROTC cadets is a bit different. The last few times I partook in a ruck march our Battalion Commander had required that in addition to the mandated 30 pound ruck we also wear our full IOTV and Kevlar. Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Adidas is making the plunge into the Smart Watch Market. Almost two years after Motorola unveiled the MotoACTV, Adidas is releasing a smart watch with almost the exact same features....

Adapt and Overcome: Training with a goal in mind
http://overcominginjury.blogspot.com/2013/11/training-with-goal-in-mind.html
Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Training with a goal in mind. Just aspiring to pass the Army Physical Fitness Test is one thing, but it is hardly a motivator to improve my current fitness levels. At this point I have continued a pretty steady regiment, and can sustain a relative slow pace for greater distances. Looking forward I have picked a number of races I am tentatively looking at for personal competition. First up is the Elf Me Run a 5 km, in Spanish Springs Nevada on 14 November 2013. Hopefully the sc...

Adapt and Overcome: June 2013
http://overcominginjury.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 13, 2013. My running is steadily improving. Yesterday I ran 3 miles, most of it at a very slow 9 minute mile pace. The pain in my achilles is now manageable thanks to slow increases in abuse and quality stretching. My shins are hurting a lot, I hope this isn't shin splints. That said I plan on lowering my running milage and increasing my bike and ellyptical milage until I arrive on station. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). And http:/ www.tacticalchess.com. Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Adidas is making the plunge into the Smart Watch Market. Almost two years after Motorola unveiled the MotoACTV, Adidas is releasing a smart watch with almost the exact same features. http:/ www.slashgear.com/adidas-smartwatch-takes-fitness-seriously-with-gps-16301686/. I find it amusing this news release would come out the same day I rooted my MotoACTV and installed both Runkeeper and Adidas MiCoach as added features. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Adapt and Overcome: It's Been a while
http://overcominginjury.blogspot.com/2013/10/its-been-while.html
Wednesday, October 16, 2013. It's Been a while. I haven't given up. In fact I've averaged 4 runs a week since the beginning of August. Up until a few weeks ago everything was being updated to http:/ www.motoactv.com however since the MotoACTV is discontinued by Motorola I was looking for an alternative. Running programs I have used in the past included Nike , however since Nike won't synch the footpod, nor Nike Fuel with the Android phone I have no interest in using them for anything other than my shoes.

Adapt and Overcome: May 2013
http://overcominginjury.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 28, 2013. Today we ran the golf course. All in all it wasn't too bad. The humidity and the hills were a pain to suffer through. In all it was just 3.7 miles total. . I ended up walking three times. It wasn't for lack of trying just didn't have it in me I guess. By the end I was doing a run and recovery jog. My Achilles didn't hurt that much. I gave it a decent stretch before and a series of long stretches after. Monday, May 27, 2013. While at OCS I managed to break my hand. I ended ...
