Taiwan (and China) from an American teen’s perspective. Ride a Bike January 21, 2009. 8212; taiwanelli @ 1:59 pm. In Taiwan, people ride scooters. In China, they ride bikes. Over here they’re always telling us to ride bikes to save the environment . If so many people are riding bikes over there, and we still. How could you find your bike afterwards, let alone get to it? 2 Responses to “Ride a Bike”. January 26, 2009 at 8:36 pm. January 27, 2009 at 9:57 am. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Taiwan (and China) from an American teen’s perspective. Hamtaro January 8, 2009. Filed under: taiwan at home. 8212; taiwanelli @ 11:24 am. A lot of the time in Taiwan we were stuck inside. This is what we watched, when I could convince my brother to watch it. He would rather watch Spongebob. Bleh, he played it 24/7 while we had chicken pox) or just flip through the channels for hours. Except, we watched it in Chinese. Hamtaro. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).

Taiwan (and China) from an American teen’s perspective. To market, to market September 15, 2008. 8212; taiwanelli @ 12:19 pm. We first went to the local night market in Taichung. Here there were sold such delicacies as squid on a stick, duck bills, chicken butts, livers, congealed blood cakes, pig feet, and suspiciously fatty sausages. I stuck to fried sweet potato puffs and fruit smoothie-type things. Those were both amazingdeliciouswonderfulscrumptious. You could also buy assorted small pets. I remembe...

Taiwan (and China) from an American teen’s perspective. Deforestation January 21, 2009. 8212; taiwanelli @ 1:49 pm. We went to a city in Taiwan that was famous for its wood carvings. What I remember of it was a row of shops along a street with a forest at the end. All the shops in that row were selling wood carvings. They had everything. 8220;this is how much money I make in a year”. Expensive. The only thing we bought was a set of chopsticks. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Taiwan (and China) from an American teen’s perspective. Exercise Fanatics January 27, 2009. 8212; taiwanelli @ 8:35 am. People exercise a lot more over in China and Taiwan. They go to parks. They have little exercise classes at the beginning and end of each airplane ride. If that isn’t enough for you, they also have a little brochure of exercises in the pocket in front of each seat, so you can do them whenever you want. You have to walk around. A bit of photography anyone? January 21, 2009. So I’m guessing you want to see some evidence of this so called “green bridge”. This entry was posted in Random. One response to “ A bit of photography anyone? January 23, 2009 at 8:25 pm. I live right by that bridge. I had to drive over it to get to and from camp all summer.😀. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Deb and Nansie’s Meandering Adventures Through Asia. December 16, 2008. Ximending Adventures at 9am. Fresh off the plane at 5:45am, Deb and I headed to one of the main shopping districts of Taipei, Ximending. Modelled after the Shibuya Shopping District of Tokyo, you can find lots of food and teenage hip fashion here. Of course, nothing was opened at 9am and the place deserted. That was dumb and my fault. So we did what we naturally would do… find food. Muscat juice with bits. Fresh juice stands everywhe...

Deb and Nansie’s Meandering Adventures Through Asia. December 17, 2008. Chang Kai Shek Memorial Hall. My earliest memories (like when I was 3 or 4) was walking around CKS every morning with Mom. There was a sign about the plant species and how it’s edible, followed by another sign requesting visitors not to pluck and eat the plants. Duh. Disguising litter and recycling bins. Yes, it’s massive. If you have to walk more than 2 blocks to a 7-11/ /. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Follow...

Deb and Nansie’s Meandering Adventures Through Asia. December 14, 2008. Out of commission…. With the flu. Day 3. This is bullshit. Update: Why I wish I was still a Taiwanese citizen (at times). So if you’re in Canada and you get sick, you go to the clinic and pay $40 to see the doc, and more for the meds. If you have MSP, you pay $0 to see the doc, but then pay monthly premiums. And if you have coverage, you pay $0 (most of the time) for your meds, but take a cut from your paycheque.

Deb and Nansie’s Meandering Adventures Through Asia. December 9, 2008. Like the song says, its Hot Hot Hot. Arrived in SGP to a warm temperature of ….30 degrees. I’m always thrown off by how HOT it is. You can literally feel the heat from the glass doors when you exit Changi Airport. The first wave of muggy, humid, sweaty and just plain gross heat slams into you. That is all from my end of the world, will blog later and upload. Laquo; Sorry for the lack of posts….
